World Food Day: APC Hails Agric Minister for Ensuring Food Stability

The leadership of APC Mandate Defenders has congratulated the two Ministers of Agriculture and Rural Development, Alhaji Muhammad Sabo Nanono and Hon. Mustapha Baba Shehuri for their unprecedented performance and tranformation of the nation's agricultural sector which has resulted in massive food availability, accesibility and affordability despite the damaging effects of this year's flood on farming activities across the country.

In a statement released to newsmen to mark this year's World Food Day which has as it's theme ''Grow, Nourish, Sustain Together, Our Actions Are Our Future,'' the group said the Agriculture for Food and Job Plan (AFJP) programme of the ministry have not only engineered increased food production but has also ensured food security and economic growth in the country.

World Food Day which is celebrated every October 16 each year is a day set aside by the United Nations to raise awareness on the essence of food security across the globe.

While congratulating Nigerians on the occasion of this year's World Food Day, the group thanked the two ministers of Agriculture for not disappointing the entire nation at this critical point in time.

To produce one seed of grain is not easy. It's 100% manual labour. We all know most if not all government policies like loans and other subsidies don't always get to those it's meant for. You must know someone that knows someone that also knows another person before you can benefit from any government policy in Nigeria. We weh no know anybody no de see even one seed of fertilizer.
