Police Begin Training Of SWAT Officers Despite Public Outcry by Health16: 9:21am On Oct 19, 2020
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has announced that the training of officers of the new tactical department, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), will begin today (Monday, October 19, 2020).

The training, according to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, will begin despite public outcry against the floating of SWAT.

Newsrand had reported that Nigerians kicked against SWAT, as the Federal Government dissolved the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), over a series of human rights violations, and abuse of power.
