As it stands now Benin City protests has been hijacked by hoodlums. It calls for an emergency drastic decisions from the federal government to take. This is not the hour to start creating committees. Because the sufferings is too much.
The president should do the following things now.

1. Make an announcement that the borders should be opened with immediate effect. Since the president cannot guarantee the safety of local farmers in their farmlands, it is reasonable to say that he opens the border till he has effectively handled herdsmen crises.

2. Sack all Service Chiefs now. The military, navy, air force and the national security agencies have failed to protect the citizens by their look worm attitude in handling bandits, herdsmen boko haram issues.

3. Reduce the price of PMS/petrol/fuel, diesel and kerosene to N100- N110 naira per litre with immediate effect.

I believe that if he do this three (3) things within the next 24hrs, calmness and normalcy will return to the populace.

OK. But if you are the president what decision will you take now to end this protests and uprising.

I doubt if the 3 would be enough to take the protesters off the streets. These guys aren't leaving the streets anytime soon. Their requests are endless.

The president only needs to sack about 100+ public workers with alledged corruption instantly and keep sacking... the people would naturally give him a new lease of trust.

This option seems not possible at the moment. The president is democratically elected and only the senate has the powers to impeach him. I believe the senate are not thinking towards this direction. So let's look for alternative solutions.
