Norfin offshore shipyard which is the first company to establish at the newly gazetted Liberty oil and gas free trade zone in Akwa Ibom state has unveiled the first ship built in its newly built yard the ship is called MV norfin 1

This ship is built by its Nigerian workforce in Nigeria. the MV Norfin 1 is the first built steel ship of the company, the first aluminum ship is under construction and is expected to be completed by December 2020.

The shipyard will produce both steel and aluminium ship platform for the Nigerian Maritime sector, on completion the shipyard will have 7 workshop and other ancillary facilities for construction of different dimension of shipping platform, Demolition, ship repairs and maintenance.

Presently one workshop has been completed and other workshops are at different stages of construction, but the company has already started shipbuilding work with the one workshop while waiting for the completion of other facilities.
