A senator in Nigeria earns as much as 29million per month. In America the Annual salary of the Senate as of 2020 is $174,000. Which is equivalent to 66,990,00 million naira a year..which is 5,582,500 million naira per month..you wonder why there country is so developed. The politicians use us, our money to enrich buy cars for themselves. Take a look at dino melaye, what can you say this guy did being a senator which so much money?
If we can come together as one Nigeria, peacefully, we can start from Twitter and then gain grounds, believe me, buhari is the only man that is not afraid to implement any decisions. let us use this opportunity to make things better for us..

25,million naira can do as much as buying equipments in federal hospitals, or channeled towards unemployment in the country, channeled towards students loans, etc. You get my point.

My dear it's a really big shame. Most Nigerians wouldn't mind if they did their jobs and earned such bogus salaries but unfortunately, they are all greedy thieves (most of them at least).

I think we need to request for all political office holders to be paid a single salary. Collection of bonuses, gifts, pensions(or multiple pensions. If they are allowed pension then they must not receive multiple) or anything similar to the above should be criminalised.

And the salaries of a political office holder should be linked to the minimum wage of those received by workers under his or her jurisdiction. So in Nigeria for instance, the wage of the President will be linked to the approved minimum wage of 30000naira and we can agree that he is to earn 30 times the minimum wage monthly. The VP maybe paid 25 times of minimum wage.

A governor that approves 20000naira as minimum wage will be paid in multiples of that amount (eg 20 times the minimum wage) but all governors will earn by same factor but the higher the minimum wage in your state the higher you can earn. Same will apply to all the thieving senators, house of rep, house of Assembly, Local government chairmen etc.

Pls somebody should verify and tell us if this is their monthly take home pay or just one-off payment or quarterly constituency allowance.

What is so tasking in legislation that the reward is higher than any form of work in the country? If that amount is true, is the any occupation that pay higher than that any where in the world?

Something must be done to address this issue!
