critically acclaimed award winning nigerian writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie finally visited the american university of nigeria, yola, after years of students writing begging her to come over.
the highlight of her visit was a book reading from her collection of short stories 'the thing around your neck' which was followed by an interesting question and answer session.
after the book reading she proceeded to the school cafeteria where she interacted with students because in her own words she 'wanted to hear their stories'.

unlike majority of writers, who tend to be reclusive or socially awkward, Chimamanda was surprisingly social and engaging. she is a truly remarkable woman. a humorous part of her visit was her signing books with a smiley face and insisting that students promise to actually read her books before she would sign them.
