In our today article, Deltapointer will be talking about 10 things you may not have known about the new MTN CEO, Mr Karl Toriola. 1. Mr. Karl full name is Karl Toriola Olutokun, Popular known as Mr. Karl ‘the amiable Boss’. 2. Mr. Karl is a result driven leader that people admire so much. Prior to joining MTN Nigeria, he was the Chief Operations/Regional Officer for Vmobile Nigeria (now Airtel Nigeria) where he wasin charge of operations. He brought standards, creativity and drive to the regional team in Vmobile. He was instrumental to the development of an effective regional Technical structure, that eventually improved penetration & increased market share by delivering a quality & available network during his time there. 3. His Drive: Karl the amiable boss, has his eyes all over the business/organization and never losses focus on the objectives. HE IS a result driven boss which earned him the title the amiable boss. 4. Career: Prior to his appointment as MTN Nigeria CEO, Mr. Karl Toriola was the Vice President: West and Central Africa (WECA) in MTN, excluding Nigeria and Ghana, a position he assumed in 2016. 5. Position: Mr. Karl Toriola replaces Mr. Ferdinand Moolman as CEO on 19th March 2021. 6. QUALIFICATION: Mr. Toriola obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the University of Ife, a Master of Science degree in Communication Systems from the University of Wales, and attended the General Management Program in Harvard Business School. In addition, he has attended several executive development courses at various institutions including Wharton Business School, Harvard Business School, Institute of Management Development and London Business School. He is a Fellow, Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE) and Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN) as well as a Member, Institute of Directors. 7 : Duration in MTN: Mr Karl has been a member of the MTN family for over 14 years and has an intimate understanding of the telecom business. He has rich credentials. Mr. Karl Toriola is well-suited to lead MTN Nigeria’s Executive Management team through the next stages of growth in the years ahead and that is why he was appointed. 8: SCHOOLS HE ATTEND: Obafemi Awolowo University 1987-1994 B.
