Hi Nairalanders. A friend of mine has just been offered employment at Glo and Zenith Bank. He is confused as to which one to opt for. Please advice is needed from experienced people or people who are knowledgeable about this two organizations.

Is he an engineer or what is his background? Anyway, go for Glo. The banking industry is beleaguered and embattled right now, and I don't see a respite soon.

Zenith and Glo is good, his discipline will determine which one to choose, if he read anything close to banking, go for banking cos you can grow there if u have the right qualifications, if u read anything close communications go for Glo, if the position is engineering, go for the engineering offer. Experience in your discipline matters alot if you wnt to grow well.

Dont even try to opt for Glo !!! I have a couple of friends working there and believe me , from the comment i heard from them is really not a place to choice over Zenith. One can be in Glo for donkey years without smelling the odor of promotion. Beside this, they also have alot of administrative issues. My friend shine your eye and make the right choice. Above all, pray about it. You might just be the change Glo has been longing for; D

Engineering services are not core to banking. Indeed, there are very limited options for engineers in banking.

hi, i work for one of d org and my hubbys frd for d other, it depends on what u want frm life. if u go for zb, ull be stock in d bankin industry, experience there is hardly transferable. its not about getin a job, its about building a career, if u want a career in bankin then, u cant do better than zb, if u want one in communications, then start with glo but hope to move on, its about the worse in communications in d industry. make a career choice not a job choice.

nb: on a day to day thin, banks are more challenging and more stressful.

Thanks a million to all of you guys. U have all been helpful. I have shown him your posts and after some more consultations and prayers, he has opted for Zenith bank and will be starting tomorrow. God bless you all.
