Happy new month everyone. Please i am in need of an advice from you guys.

I graduated in 2018 from a polytechnic here in Nigeria and I finished my service May this year. I wanted to go for my Pgd but I don't know if that's the best thing to do.

I have heard a lot about the discrimination HND holders experience in the labour market. So, I was wondering if I should really go for the pgd or apply for direct entry into a University.

pls all ur advice would be highly welcomed

If you're planning to go into academics then it is advisable you do B.Sc., anything other than that just go for Pgd.

Fortune's nowadays don't know certificates

If age is on your side go for Bsc.. I believe you should start with 300 level

If you getting old... Go for pgd
...

Good luck with your studies

You can go for pgd (1yr) and then MSc (2yrs), all in all 3yrs!
If you want to try BSc, then you will enter by Direct Entry into two hundred level, meaning for a 4yr course, you will spend 3yrs and for 5 you will spend 4yrs.
Final Advice: go for pgd but make sure you do your MSc!
Carefully Note that the years I put up there are minimum years, in Nigeria, you can add two years to all the years embarassed

I think some of the comments above are misleading.

1. Go for another first degree if your sole aim is to do a better course (in Nigeria contest).

2. But if youre going for academia or job search and you're feeling threatened (which shouldn't be), go for a PGD (1 year) in a preferred field and straight to Masters and PhD.

bro, use that money and become an entrepreneur, set up your own business and nurture it. Certificate doesn't help these days. You can still go for further studies when your business has stabilised.

We're in the same car bro, This is my advice, A school like federal polytechnic ilaro (federalpolyilaro.edu.ng) is in affiliation with federal University Oye ekiti. However, they run a 2yrs top up program to get your Bsc. Note that PGD in Nigeria is also 2yrs. They accept any poly but note that you've to study hard because they're touch,It's a weekend program anyway. But I'm not rushing into any Nigeria school for now. It's all scam as I just finished NYSC.
I advise you go for a relevant professional courses out there.

If you are going into academics, you should go for Bsc. my brother, there are lot of opportunities having a Bsc than HND combined with PGD home and abroad but abroad to be precise.

I will advise you to go for Bsc. Change your education background. one way or the other you will need your Bsc in the future

Please have you been able to sort this out or gotten first hand information.

Am currently in need trying to purchase the form for LASPOTECH/FUOYE for the top up program in Electrical Electronics Engineering. Please anyone here currently running this program? Please help a brother. Thank you in anticipation for your favorable response.
