Don't doubt when people says this country is corrupt beyond repair.
I partook in the recruitment exercise conducted by the above company last year to replace outgoing Mobil Spy in Exxon Mobil, Akwa Ibom State.
On the 25th December, 2019, I went for the exercise, on arrival, we were divided into groups (20 per group) and was made to run a 100m race, which the recruiter said is part of the recruitment process. In my group I took 5th.
On the 3rd January, 2020, we were told to report for lectures which runned till 8th including Sunday. Also during the process, our heights and credentials were taken. Before the exams, Umana Umana a staff of the company addressed us that the exercise will focus more on community people surrounding Exxon Mobil and the rest will be base on merit - a plus for me as a community person, and I even presented a letter of recommendations from the Hon. member representing Eket in the State House. But to my surprise, he (Umana) rejected it, saying that the Hon. is bigger than such job.

On hearing that I decide to explore what I did in Uni. days - reading like tomorrow no dey.
Exams was conducted and few days later people started calling me and asked if I have received text from the company, I said no. Many people approched them so they decided to paste the results. In my group I was 2nd with an 'A'. I approahed the recruiter and they promised to get back to those that merit during exams.
What shooked me more is that my town guy who came 2 days to exams and many others that paid money are currently working.
This is how nigeria is, too bad.

#MODS pls let people see this for them to tell me if I should still believe in this country.

You that brought a letter from the Hon. Member, isn't that a form of cheating with godfatherism? Now that it didn't work, you're crying wolf. He who comes to the table of equity must come with clean hands

But believe me, theres so much injustice in this country, I always tell people whatever it takes for you to leave this country legally for good just do it.

Even in your own country you feel worthless, what is now the essence of being a citizen of the country.

He brought a letter because he was told being a member of the community in which ExxonMobil operates is also an important requirement aside merit.

I do not see anything wrong in what he did since he didnt rely solely on the letter and only brought it after being told about community requirements.

You just ended up spilling garbage. I guess your hand has diarrhea and u just want to seem smart yet you just exposed your foolishness. If according to what you said, he wants to use connections, then why is he crying and saying he was denied since his connection didn't pull through. Obviously his connection was not as strong as that of others.

If he had solely used his grades and it didn't work, then we can believe him that the country isn't fair. He is obviously part of the rot in the system and only cried fowl since his own means failed him.

Bros, you don't need a letter to prove anything. The mere fact that your state of origin is there already proves that you're from that community. If at all there's need for a letter, then it should be the letter given by your State Liaison Office not one Honourable member.

For those who are from the community but who don't know any Honourable member, what becomes of their fate?
