alright guys let me narrate how the whole situation happen because I'm a worker at the dangote refinery.
It all started about 2 weeks ago when Onshore fze Nigeria workers start protest peacefully about increment of their salary to their Indian management whose main office is at P&M site, the management have agreed with the workers demand on saturday 31/10/2020 on get to the refinery gate on Monday the security men at the gate did not allow mainly" the onshore Nigeria workers int the premesis

The workers forced them self amidst tearsgas that was shoot at them to repel them from gainging entrance. They all match inside the refinery to onshore office a whole lots of chaos happened on Monday at onshore office was destroyed
But the tension has also be on ground that other company start agitating to Protest for increment of salary,,,, company like : OIL, Chemi-tech. All join the onshore.......
Guys i take now is that the indian did made a very nice salary structure but the problem is the labor supplier do cut this money and rather pay workers very small money. Sincerely speaking the Indians do conive with these labour suppliers.......
How do I know; the labour supplier for oil is RASAYELA, among the benefits for worker is their daily feeding money in 1500 and house allowance monthly is 15000 but this labour supplier pays 200 naira for feeding.
Same thing with Onshore
Amr thing with chemistry tech
Same thing with power mech. That's my company. Our salary structure is as follow:
Helper: 35000
Rigger: 45000
Grinder: 55000
gas cutter 65000
Argon Welder 120000
Pipe fitter 150000
... So on. This is very poor but all we know is that our labour supplier is cutting workers pay cos the Indian management can't made this payment structure. Its very sadden that before month end we all have huge debts to pay with nothing profitable at hand Nigeria labor congress is not even aware how Nigeria workers are faring at a gigantic project as this.

Harddiskng:

The items that were banned, is Dangote (and some other well connected people) not still importing them to run his (their) factories? Has banning them and giving importation rights to Dangote solved our problems, or it just pouring money into one man’s pocket at the expense of all others further dragging the Nation into poverty.
Good night Sir nothing I say would change your perception.

Arrewa:
Army was deployed after the confrontion involving the police. No one was killed in Dangote Refinery.

The protesters in frame 3n4 who were reportedly killed are doing fine in the hospital after sustaining injuries.

The Army officer has calmed things down with his address to the crowd.

Nigeria police need to start sending all their personnels to compulsory human relations and skill & arms courses.

Why shotting protesters at any slightest provocation

Who are you to be saying all these nonsense?
Where you there at the Protest?
Where did you get all these Falsehood above?
What is the business of Army with an Industrial Dispute or is that the Hoko Haram and ISWAP and Bandits we asked them to face?

You just sit in your Thatched Hut somewhere in the North and type nonsense, just to please your "Arewa Mentallity"

Once something is about Police or Army, you Northerners rush online to say rubbish well, it is those who are being killed in the South that suffer the pain so l dont blame your ignorance

If we had good Govt, this is what the should be looking into, immediately.
If we dig deeper, you will find out that the "Labour Supplier" is one Northerner or one Big Man sitting somewhere, living large on people's sweat.

If Dangotte is paying Workers #1500 and the Labour Supplier, who is just a Middle Man, is paying them #200, pocketing #1300 for himself, that is EXPLOITATION and is against Labour Laws of Nigeria.
The Labour Supplier needs to be exposed, fished out and arrested by the Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige but that one is another dubious fraudster who is only concerned about keeping his job

I worked in that place for 2 yrs. I most confess our fellow Nigerian contractors are the ones killing their fellow blacks there. The say they are labour suppliers, companies give them contract to supply labour. They negotiate salaries which is gud ad pay workers 30% of what they negotiate. 70%is their own. Monkey they work baboon dey chop. And the job there is so hard. Working condition is very bad. No water to drink. No toilet. Safety is zero. People work under rain in some company. People die cuz of unsafe working condition.

Truth be told in Nigeria we don't have real and genuine billionaire as been portrayed by many cruck. Those businessmen are not true billionaires because it is either they under paying their staffs or they are under paying taxes or not even paying their staffs for months, and not paying taxes yet they are be been called billionaires and successful businessmen...This is Nigeria.

Guestlander:

Why would anyone think of doing that?

Nigerians shut down many debates by arguing correctly that Lagos's economy alone is larger than that of many African nations. Some may jealously long for the destruction of Lagos’s economy. This is the mentality of the African. It’s as if too many have tiny brains at the centre of skulls full of putrid fat that suffocates any progressive reasoning trying to surface.

Dangote is just too greedy

His trailer destroyed part of my sister's shop, and we held the driver, the man was basically in tears begging us , telling us he earns just 40k has family in sokoto.... After detaining the truck for 4 days calling all Dangote group contacts, we just had to let the man and the trailer go, he had nothing to eat, and still prayed 5 times a day in a spot we gave him

Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Coca Cola and all furtune hundred companies treat their company staffs really good and still make profit, the companies still keeps growing

And to the Idiot above me qouting me, common sense should tell you prompt payment of contractors means prompt payment of workers wether permanent staff or contract staff, should Nigerian citizens get mismanaged and abused by Indian/ Chinese contractors hired by Dangote, he should look into it

.

Says a man who asslicks his political RULERS; the irony!

AltMon3:
Gunfire has been reported during a protest at the Dangote Oil Refinery in the Lekki Free Trade Zone (Lagos state) on Tuesday morning, November 3. Company employees were holding a protest over salaries. Reports indicate one of the protesters has been shot by police.

According to information, the workers at the refinery have been for a week now protesting against harsh working conditions at the site of the ongoing construction site of the Dangote refinery. Some workers have also called on the management of the refinery to increase workers’ wages and salaries.

Dangote Refinery is an oil refinery owned by the Dangote Group that is situated on 6,180 acres (2,500 hectares) is under construction in Ibeju-Lekki, Free trade zone near Lagos Nigeria. The 650,000 barrels per day (BPD) capacity integrated refinery is the largest single-train refinery in the world and it is expected to be Africa’s biggest oil refinery.

The construction of the Dangote refinery which started in 2017 was initially announced to be commission in 2020, but the Dangote Group has announced that its refinery would be commissioned by the end of the first half in 2021.

This is not the first time that construction workers at the Dangote refinery would down tools to protest against poor working conditions and poor pay. Such protests have contributed to the delay in the construction work.

I am so pained!!!
U are protesting on the private business of somebody!!!!
If u don't like the working conditions, why not simply down tools and walk away let him employ others looking for job all over Nigeria?

Abeg police should shoot every single motherfucker protesting.
This is why people prefer to hire Indians to work

I wish NLC can look into this.... Most workers have nothing to write home about, just working to eat and pay debts..
