First Fruit Offering - Why, How And When (full Guide) by Samchimezie(m): 9:18pm On Nov 05, 2020
WHAT IS ‘FIRST FRUITS’?
It’s important to understand that First Fruits is a biblical principle that is practised and emphasised throughout the Bible. It begins in the origins of the Bible with faithful believers like Abel (in Genesis 4) and Moses (in Exodus 23) & continues into the New Testament through the Apsotle Paul’s writings.

It was Moses who said, “As you harvest your crops, bring the very best of the first harvest to the house of the Lord your God.” (Exodus 23:19)

King Solomon wrote about it too: “Honour the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.” (Proverbs 3:9-10)

The principle of First Fruits is when we give the first and best of our fruit to God.

Samchimezie, what you have done here amounts to lying in the name of God. The offering of the first fruits as described in the Old Covenant are laws that were set in place by God for the nation of Israel to live by. If you note, the first fruits were offered of their fruits, liquors, firstborn sons, first born of their lifestock etc.

Exodus 22 vs 29 (ESV)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
22. Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.

23. If thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cry;
24. And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
25. If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury.
26. If thou at all take thy neighbour's raiment to pledge, thou shalt deliver it unto him by that the sun goeth down:
27. For that is his covering only, it is his raiment for his skin: wherein shall he sleep? and it shall come to pass, when he crieth unto me, that I will hear; for I am gracious.
28. Thou shalt not revile the gods, nor curse the ruler of thy people.
29. Thou shalt not delay to offer the first of thy ripe fruits, and of thy liquors: the firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto me.
30. Likewise shalt thou do with thine oxen, and with thy sheep: seven days it shall be with his dam; on the eighth day thou shalt give it me.
31. And ye shall be holy men unto me: neither shall ye eat any flesh that is torn of beasts in the field; ye shall cast it to the dogs.
Read those laws with your own eyes to see that God was specific on what was to be offered to Him. He never asked for people to donate money in His name as first fruit. And you know what else, He was also specific as to whom the Old Covenant laws apply to.

Deuteronomy 30 vs 15-20 (ERV)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
15. “Today I have given you a choice between life and death, success and disaster.
16. I command you today to love the Lord your God. I command you to follow him and to obey his commands, laws, and rules. Then you will live, and your nation will grow larger. And the Lord your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to take for your own.
17. But if you turn away from your God and refuse to listen, if you are led away to worship and serve other gods,
18. you will be destroyed. I am warning you today, if you turn away from God, you will not live long in that land across the Jordan River that you are ready to enter and take for your own.

19. “Today I am giving you a choice of two ways. And I ask heaven and earth to be witnesses of your choice. You can choose life or death. The first choice will bring a blessing. The other choice will bring a curse. So choose life! Then you and your children will live.
20. You must love the Lord your God and obey him. Never leave him, because he is your life. And he will give you a long life in the land that he, the Lord, promised to give to your ancestors—Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
God is not a fool that He would give His Old Covenant to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and then expect people in Nigeria, people who live far away from the land He promised to His people, Israel, to live by the same rules. Stop making God look like one by your false teachings.
