My fellow Nigerian youth, Most of us didn't know of Blackberry in 2003, Virtually none of us had a blackberry in 2007, in 2011 most of us have one, its cool for bbing, fbing, tweeting etc but this year we have to use this device for so much more, the elections are coming and we have the unique opportunity to carry the world along with pictures, tweets, bbms,fb updates etc, like in Egypt, they have effected change using technology, in Nigeria we have a real opportunity to make a change. We are the future of this country and we will not let our future go to waste, let us as youths rise up and claim what is rightfully ours, our mandate, our right to determine our future, use ur phones @ polling stations, use ur phones @ campaign grounds, no more coded runs, let the world see that the young people in nigeria are desperately yearning for change, its not enough to simply broadcast this message, u must make it a point of duty to have relevant information as ur status message, inform others when there is any suspicious activity, post updates on any important info pertaining to the april elections, let's not wait till 2015, the time is now, 15M a month for reps/25M a month for senators while teachers&civil servants are fighting for 18K a month!! No light! No water! Bad roads! No jobs for graduates (even those with masters), corruption is @ an all time high! The IMF is at it again like in the days of SAP to devalue the naira, what are our so called leaders doing?? Nothing!! We have to act now, Use everything @ ur disposal especially the tech wonder in ur hands to make a difference, let's put a stop to rigging one picture, video, ping, tweet,fb message @ time, Don't just forward this, u must act on it, we have less than a month to the most crucial time of our lives, put tribe, religion and partinsanship aside and do what's right for our dear country Nigeria, keep ur eyes&ears open and use all the tools of social media to make a change in our 2011 elections in Nigeria! Pls when will d youth of this country ask our greedy selfish leaders where is our money going to. I saw a masters degree holder selling milk on d road. Couldn't help d tears from my eyes. This is getting too much. Egyptians live in far better condition than our youths which make up 70% of our populace but what hurts me d more is that we the youths don't care n its very sad. Sleep over it, this is our future.

Interesting one.

I think as young change agents, we should constanly use the social media to drive change. Look at how Facebook and Twitter helped Egypt and Tunisia. The Egyptian government had to shut down the internet.

We have websites like www.reclaimnaija.net which allows us to report and monitor the elections around the country.

If we saw more of our commonality than be soaked in tribalism or ethic-centrism, this is possible. Just like Libya, we just have too many different cultures and languagues, rather than focus on nationalism will quest on the differences.

This is such a heartfelt msg and so true. If any change is to occur in naija it is only d youths that can save her. We are speedily spinning into the abyss, no form of accountability wotsoever. Everywhere u look, is corruption ! We the youths must act now. Don't jst say "the govt is bad", but ask urself wot u hav done, in ur own small way, to bring change to ur community? Examine urself first, cos the change can only begin from ourselves first! One naija !
