I've been seeing this lately on Nairaland especially from our ibo brothers.

Southern unity against what?

Note : I'm neither Hausa nor Fulani, before some of you will start talking in the nonsense.

Southern Nigeria comprises of three 3 regions (SW, SE and SS)
what does someone from SW have in common with someone from SE?
why must the South Unite?
how important is southern unity?

Let those from South speak.

You are from kwara state and north.

Hausa fulani to be precise. Allow those who are in the said south to speak for themselves.

First of all this is a mischievous thread..
Southern unity has never existed and would never exist the south has more reasons to be divided than to be united.. it’s easier for the Kardashian’s( Kano, katsina, kaduna) to convert to christainity than for the reality of southern Unity...
Lastly quit tribal bigotry the yoke of prejudice will hurt aspects of your life here in Nigeria that’s if you live in Nigeria .

This thread is harmless, can't someone ask a simple question in peace again.

Why did you used the K-states and Christianity as an Example, I understand the example is harmless but why can't we stay clear of religion thingy in this country?

you are asking what is it?

ok bro let me tell you, the north fears that a southern unity could spell doom for them and the end of the Nigeria nation.

Do you known what it means wen a United southern Nigeria is attain? it will change alot of approach and how the north will sit on the table to discourse many issues.

imagine after the EndSARs protest, a meeting was called in kaduna by northern people that comprises key federal government ministers, emits, governors, security personals from the north including IGP,chief of staff etc, where they condemn the EndSARs stuff n said it was a protest to change president Buhari forgetting the main thing..doesn't it tell you more than what is son the surface?

wen southern leaders kick and condemned the meeting and even faulted the presences of the federal government in a meeting of Arewa people, another outraged and possible loosening of the Nigerian nation was unfolding as PANDEF, AFENIFERE, MIDDLE BELT FORUM AND OHANEZE speaks, they now realize their open mistake and dispatch the chief of staff being Gambari and IGP to visit the southern people on geo political zones and not as one southern Nigeria as they did in the North.

The north should stop seeing Nigeria with the eyes of the 1960s...alot has change and it will not take long the new generations will forceful disintegrate Nigeria!

As mischievous as Your intents are, you are totally right! There is nothing like southern nigeria. What we had at independence were the north, the east and the west. There were agitations in the middle belt and the Midwest. The Midwest came into fruition before the war and the subsequent balkanization by Gowon and his gang. So yeah! Without equivocation, southern nigeria as a group is imaginary! It was reinvented by the North and Obasanjo post 1999 to alternate power between the fulani and the Yorubas. The fulani representing the north and Obasanjo filling in for the Yoruba/south. There is nothing like the North and the South. Political interests domiciled in the east are different in many ways from those of the north or the west.

I'm not speaking on behalf of the Yoruba nation, but as someone with 100% Yoruba blood, SW/NWandNE unity is bad but SW/SE unity is worst.

considering the hatred the SE folks has for SW people am still trying to understand how a unity SW/SE would be beneficial to us in the SW.

Religion thingy?
Pardon me if that was inappropriate.
My comment only concerns political unity nothing more

The south is divided along ethnic and religious lines that is why we have some people calling for biafra and some others calling for oduduwa republic. We live in a country of conflict and confusion thinking we are united would be foolhardy

you claim to be 100% yoruba but yet you seem oblivious to the threat, fulanis pose for our existence as an ethnic group.....hmmm i

wonder! While we are rambling about a unified front against a common enemy, the fulanis presently, have over 1740 illegal armed camps all over

yorubaland. And 100s of them are still being transported daily to our towns and cities. Sadly, same are being done to the SS and the SE regions, too.

In essence, we all (SW, SS,SE & THE Middlebelt ) are at the mercy of fulani hegemony. It's either we come together and face a common enemy or we

do so, individually but one thing is certain- war is coming and we better brace ourselves up for it or else we will ALL be over run by the fulanis. They

have already taken over hausaland and now they are coming to conquer the rest of the country bequeathed to them by our former colonial master.
