The attention of Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has been drawn to a video going viral on the social media, about some purported sweepers claiming that they are owed three months salaries.

The fact of the matter is that no sweeper is being owed three months salaries. The contractor CEOs had been paid up till date.

There's no truth whatsoever in the claims, it is a complete falsehood and the Authority wants to make it categorically clear, that the welfare of our sweepers is paramount and we will stop at nothing to ensure that they are adequately taken care of.

Members of the public are hereby advised to ignore the video as it is malicious and suggestive.

For waste management complaints and inquiries, please call our toll-free numbers 07080601020 and 617.

So over 10 to 15 women are all lying at the Same time?
Government secondary school teachers you no go pay them better Money una go still owr
Lecturers una go owe them salary
Civil servants same
Police you no go even pay them

Even pensioners una go rob them

Una no dey Taya?

Them use lie swear for una? How can these old women make efforts in cleaning the dingy terrible streets and their money is meagre yet to pay them Na problem.despite their age they are the ones doing one of the hardest jobs in nigeria carrying heavy thrash bins on their head, picking thrash on the floor everywhere and no single health care insurance for them despite the job hazards.if they die,una no send.sometimes I just wonder whether government officials are human at all or demons

Go to Oshodi bridge, Berger and Agege.they are all over the place and the streets is one of the most dangerous places.some of them labour under the hot Sun for hours and in rain.theres the risk of hit and run, there's the risk of kidnap, there's the risk of rape etc yet despite their harsh realities you still pay them next to nothing

If they fall sick, all the money put together cannot do anything

They can't even send their kids to school takless of saving

The men can still cope but those elderly women in their late 50s and 60s. I get amazed at the frail strength still left in them.that job there you rarely see Sisi there

It's a BIG fat lies that they're not owing the Sweepers any salary. They just paid them September salary while October salary is yet to be paid. Those women shouting in that video can't be LAWMA sweepers because if the Sweepers has opportunity to air there grievances concerning their salary they will curse hell out of management of LAWMA. Most of the Sweepers have turn to beggers on d street. They trek distance to get to work each day

Read carefully, they said the contractors have been paid. The sweepers should meet the contractors not lawma.

It's not everything that has to do with the government
Imagine salaries being paid into the top bosses accounts and they end up spending it all on exclusive parties and sponsoring invaluable things , eulogizing bbnaija wheras their workers can't afford a rent and they expect them to continue working
The workers will think the money is being held by the government cuz that's what they're meant to believe in
Not knowing the money has been used to suck Dorathy's boobs and Nengi and Mercy's ass

Lights up my kpoli in peace

The problem is with the contractors, the Lagos state government pay this contractors but they would decide to use the money as turn overs for months thereby owing these sweepers and left for months.

I once met a woman who told me they have not been paid for 3 months even during that lockdown they were still working. Some Nigerians are just naturally wicked.

Call those useless contractor attention or let the state government investigate the truth of the matter.. because personal..there is a woman I knew very well,a single mother and she complained to me that for past four months their salary has not been paid..the government should not do the cover up them..or better still enroll the sweeper on government payroll....their slot of short payment...
