Wao, I wont mind working for ECOWAS, though not as a messenger, if I moved back to Nigeria. Working in an organization dedicated to uplifting West Africa's economy is admirable.

Re: Anybody Wants To Work In Ecowas by bjcisse: 11:56am On Jun 28, 2007
You cant really blame them 'denex' that's the situation in Nigeria, When most graduate in nigeria are paid blow 60k monthly and a messenger somewhere is been paid 70k plus a two years house rent upfront. wht do u expect. Even some drivers are paid 90-100k monthly in some companies, Is not all about having to tie up or suiting up to the office every day . its all about your take home pay monthly and other benefits. There is no longer respect for a degree in nigeria anymore b'cos everybdy has it, If SSCE holders are considered to the pay package of around 25k monthly and OND holders are also considered for around 50-60k monthly, then HND & Bsc holders can talk from 100k but mind you every company's want to employe a degree holder but not every company want to pay for it. some pay while some don't out of no job, the poor degree holder takes any job.

Re: Anybody Wants To Work In Ecowas by uuraih(m): 5:24pm On Jun 29, 2007
Good day all.
Due to the unprecendented number of responses generated by my posting, I believe I owe it to be a little more explict regarding the job openings in the Abuja Ecowas commission.
There are as yet unadvertised slots for the posts of "messengers" and drivers;the word messenger is in italics because the job entails much more than just carrying messages.
Applicants must be relatively young, erudite, and at least have a higher school leaving certificate of good standing. The applicant must also be ready to attend selection interviews in Abuja, as well as be willing to relocate to the F.C.T upon employment.
The position for ECOWAS drivers are less stringent as can be expected, and as such would be more sought after by a higher percentage of people.
To the many of you that have already submitted your C.V's,please keep an eye on this space for further information. When interview slots are to be allocated you would be communicated to either through phone or via this medium.
Please note that the slots available for drivers are much more numerous than those available for "messengers" and that the closing date for all entries is on 06/07/2007,so it would be prudent to respond A.S.A.P.
Thank you.

Re: Anybody Wants To Work In Ecowas by uuraih(m): 1:19pm On Jul 02, 2007
Good day.
Before I delve into the main matter at hand, here's a little more information:
There are job openings in Bank PHB and FCMB in their Lagos main offices for work in their newly opened Abuja branches. So, if you can, go submitt your CV at the offices in question.
My agency has also gotten wind of job openings in the ETB Abuja branches.
PLEASE NOTE,UNLIKE THE ECOWAS JOB OPENINGS, WE CANNOT FACILITATE YOUR GETTING THE JOBS AFOREMENTIONED.

Back to the matter at hand.
As stated in my earlier post, the closing date for application is the 6th of this month;consequently our closing date for all entries terminates by 12 noon on tuesday, the 3rd of July.

To the following:

Miss Adina         0803408318
Miss Glory          08063194347
Miss Ben            08068054430
Mr Obare           08033967566
Mr Ben Okolo     08028927108
Mr Cosby            0802370698

You shall be contacted by our head office as to the next step in the application process.
PLEASE remember,I work for an agency that aquires inside information about job openings,so naturally all protocol is duely followed.
Because of the time frame involved I personally doubt there would be time to come to Abuja here for the job interview at our agency and run all the necessary gamut involved in the application, particularly if you dont live in the Abuja metropolis, but rest assured that even if this job offer slips by,we shall still notify you on other job openeings;hopefully our next overture would have ample time to spare.

Thank you.

Denex, can u just imagine what d Nigerian govt have turned graduates to? guys are ready 2 do anything 4 d dough. Although, the offer is quite a watery one, but it's like selling one's conscience, cos it has no job security & career growth. Pls, let's becareful.
Re: Anybody Wants To Work In Ecowas by poshelala: 6:23pm On Jul 02, 2007
Denex, can u just imagine dat? I mean, dis kind of job (though, a watery offer) has got no career growth or job security. I blame d Nigerian govt sha, cos guys are jobless and really need some cash 2 pay some bills. But pls, let's all watch it. I really do not think this job is worth d grab- or what do we think?
