Where are the protesters when you need them? Some of them are the robbers and criminals terrorising the people of Edo state. I remember how many of this forum were rooting for them as they destroy security formation and released hardened criminals.
Truelly.
But you know all this could have been avoided if government had acted all this while there was outcry over the execes of Sars and the police in general. Why must we as Nigerians wait for issue to degenerate before we do the right thing?

u cant blame them, 90% of Nigerian youth brain hard been bought over by corrupt politicians. they use illiteracy(empty promises, ignorance etc) , hunger and poverty(Stockholm syndrome) to control the mind of the people. It has reached breaking point now. who will restore sanity.. that is the big question.

The issue could have been avoided if fake news don't exist or coronavirus never happened.

isn't it funny how we blame d police for their excesses but till today nobody has made mention of how yahoo boys brought them to the street.nobody blamed d yahoo boys n other sets of criminals.

If the state police commissioner cannot effectively police a single state, he should be fired immediately and a more competent person brought in.

What the police lacks right now is leadership, same thing that led to the whole issue of Endsars...

Under normal circumstances, the IG ought to have honorably resigned or fired from that job...

Taking back that state from criminals should begin with door to door search, and investigation along with road blocks in strategic locations... making peace with the populace of the state, getting them to your side will facilitate and enhance this process.
kindly apply for the next recruitment then come back to type this rubbish

You are actually talking off point sir...

Peaceful protests shouldn't have stopped serious police officers from doing their jobs. The protests were hijacked by hoodlums because police people chose to abdicate their duties, some even folded their arms watching as a punishment to those protesting against them...

The fact that a protest brought an entire nation's security apparatus to the dust should make you pause and ask yourself pertinent questions: Have we ever truly had a well functioning police and security frame work??! Is Nigeria the only nation in the world to have experienced protests??! Did America and Egypt become crime havens all because people protested for weeks??!

Some of you just want us to keep managing the status quo... Without the events of last month, do you actually believe your leaders would have seen the need to address the longstanding issues of insecurity and massive corruption/criminality within the police units across the nation??! Is that not one of the main things the protests exposed to the light??!...

Some of you just don't get it... Nigeria is like a decaying and gangrenous sore which has long been covered up with promises, dialogue, and status quo...

You people are even talking about Benin... Do you know how many lives have been needlessly lost across the nation even prior to Endsars protests due to insecurity borne out of the negligence of your security apparatus??! Do you even have an inkling of how bad things were even before youths began protesting??!...

Sigh... I am tired of going back and forth with some of you on this issue of EndSARS... Instead of compelling your leaders to do their damn jobs, you rather heap unnecessary blames on your fellow citizens!!! Smh...
when police officers were hunted and killed by your peaceful protesters, you folded your hands and watched, now you are here blowing Grammer. Go and sleep

I will ignore your tactless and unwise response... I am better evolved than to trade insults on an anonymous forum.

So, it is safe to deduce from your submission that we all should accept the efforts of our security leaders as laudable, and have no reason whatsoever to complain... Cos, I don't get the meaning of asking people to join an organization if they feel the said organization isn't measuring up.

That's like asking people to join the military, contractors, become governors, etc, if they feel displeased or dissatisfied with services being rendered... What sort of obtuse reasoning and argument is that??! Why mention me if you have nothing worthy or better to counter with??!... That's very unbecoming.

Stations were burnt by their own people and the police operation from the headquarters. Many officers are not encouraged, morales are low and they only want to be alive and protect their families. It's easy for you to sit at home and suggest resignation.

One would have thought you had an understanding of how to solve the problem but just like every other online noisemaker, you goofed.

To you, it's about resigning and firing. If you own a business and have employees, you'll ruin yourself faster than you might expect. Apparently, you don't own one. You could have learnt a lesson or two.

You want police officer who are largely understaffed too invade people's houses without warrants? It's this same you who would would scream blue murder. You'll tag UN, BBC, CNN and America to see the human right violation by your police.

Common sense should tell you that by then, criminals and their weapons would be underground and your police would only be chasing shadows.

These policemen are at the same time risk of being attacked since the little sanity enjoyed in the state before the protest has gone into the wind. Everyone is vulnerable.

You dare insinuate roadblocks? What is wrong with you? It's the same people as you who would scream extortion and in the event of a suspicion by the police, you scream harassment and brutality.

"Making peace with the populace in your state and getting them on your side with facilities..."

What manner of hot crap is this? Which facilities? Which peace? Police are not liked anywhere in the world. "Fvck the police" is a popular slang even in the US. If that's your solution to this urgent crisis, then you need to think it through again.

SARS, a trained unit for this activity has been disbanded. Traffic officers cannot replace them, office rank and files and those one on the streets cannot easily fit into their shoe. . Wait for SWAT.

All your solutions reeks of incompetence and you must really think you know anything at all. Sad.
your post washed away all the stress I passed through today. May God bless you

It's actually pathetic and laughable that you don't see the irony and ignorance in what you typed above... Where in the world do Peaceful Protesters get arms and kill security agents?! What is even the correlation between a peaceful protest and killing police officers??! No learned individual will make such a statement!!!
