ASUU Can’t Call Off Strike Now – NLC by gistongist: 10:09am On Nov 18, 2020
The Nigeria Labour Congress on Tuesday, told the Senate that the Academic Staff Union of Universities cannot call off its strike now.

NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, told the Red Chamber this while appearing before its Aviation Committee to present the union’s position on six bills being considered to transform agencies in the sector.

When asked if the NLC would advise ASUU go resume work while negotiations continue, Wanna said, “That is not how negotiations are done.

“If before the action commences, we were able to reach a negotiation, then we would have resolved the issues.

“We are already on the action before those issues arose. I don’t think that is the best way to go. Government should show enough commitment to resolve the issue once and for all.”
