They deregulate their currency by removing 4 zeros from their currency that's why you think the exchange rate is more powerful than naira..In financial world 0 is very powerful, imagine you have (1,000,000) one million naira now,and you remove 4zeros that become 1,000,000-0000=100naira..So 1million naira minus 4 zeros becomes 100naira.That's exactly what Ghana did..So the 100ghana CEDI's today is actually 1million CEDI's..And the bad side of it is that such power you see in the exchange rate does not reflect in the economy.. A product you can purchase for 100 CEDI's in Ghana can be purchase at far lower price in Nigeria and other countries in west Africa.. So don't let the exchange rate deceive you,it's only powerful on paper because of the deregulation, such power does not reflect in their economy.
