LAGOS- Elder statesman and Second Republic federal lawmaker, Dr. Junaid Mohammed on Saturday said Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai has failed in his responsibilities and is desperately trying to keep his job by raising false alarm over plans by some politicians in concert with some Generals to stage a coup.

Buratai had while decorating the 39 newly promoted Major Generals, said he was aware that some Generals were being approached by politicians, warning that his eyes are on them.

He vowed that the Nigerian Army will never tolerate any agent of destabilization bent on scuttling the current democratic dispensation.

“Democracy has come to stay. We will not tolerate any agent of destabilization. The years of military misadventure in politics have never carried us anywhere. It is over,” Buratai had said.

However, speaking with Daily Independent, Junaid said at a time Nigerians are demanding for the sack of the Service Chiefs, Buratai is trying to keep his job by giving President Muhammadu Buhari the impression that he has been working assiduously to prevent coup plotters from taking over the government.

“My initial reaction is to simply dismiss what Buratai has been saying. He is trying to keep his job even though he has failed woefully. As far as I am concerned, what he said was sheer nonsense because in the first place, any politician worth the name knows that it is a crime to approach a serving or retired soldier and ask him to stage a coup”.

“Soldiers stage coup out of many considerations one of which has to do with developments in the armed forces itself. In the history of this country and other countries where coup took place, quite a number of considerations have been responsible for soldiers staging a coup. In some areas, it has to do with the incompetence or corruption by politicians”.

“Soldiers who get involved with politicians like Buratai himself are the ones who should be careful. Buratai has been overstaying his welcome. He has failed woefully in terms of what he should be doing particularly in the North-East as regards Boko Haram and the North West as regards banditry”.

“He should look at himself and answer the question, is he a worthy General? Can he be relied upon to defend the country and defend the armed forces? The answer as far as I’m concerned is no!”.

I know it was wrong of me to you this man is stupid and I feel awful that the only thing I can say is "I'm sorry." But I am, so I'll say it as many times as I need to in order to convince myself of how terrible I feel about this. Buratai is a dunce, a
dipstick COAS.
Buhari is are more disappointing than an unsalted pretzel.

He knows that if there is anything Buhari is afraid of, it is a coup for a second time so he knows playing on the fear of Buhari will help to elongate his corrupt tenure without putting into consideration his immediate junior that shld have step into that office so as to have a sense of fulfilment.

Anyone taking this intelligent comment grin grin grin by Junaid Mohammed to heart is doing so at his or her risk!!!

Because he's not stable, he speaks from both sides of his mouth

Reasons are not far fetched:
1. He said any politician worth the name knows that it is a crime to approach a serving or retired soldier and ask him to stage a coup”.

Yet he gave a reason why coup can be staged grin grin grin

2. How can you blame Buratai and leave Buhari

3. It's more like what he did during Edo election, blaming Oshiomole and left Tinubu out grin grin

Why is he afraid to say the truth to those really concerned
