Why do you want to engage in a fight that you can't win?

It makes no sense to me at all.

Today, Bush continues to pay every single day for the past few years for not being sensible before making his decision.
There is a big difference between fighting Togo (ehindero) and figting the Great Britain (IBB).

And please, don't miss understand my point, I'm not here trying to justify or condone IBB past mistakes, but only being sensible and realistic about the whole situation.

McKren, I'm sure you know my policy "I don't follow and I view things from a different angle"

Our main priority at this time should be stabilizing the economy and elevating the low standard of living in Nigeria. Absolutely not fighting a rat race war.
Re: Why On Earth Is Ibb Not In Jail by BigB11(m): 5:02pm On Jul 03, 2007
Trying to prosecute IBB will be a mere waste of time and money; all the leaders know this fact.
Re: Why On Earth Is Ibb Not In Jail by McKren(m): 5:05pm On Jul 03, 2007
Avoiding rat race should include avoiding the Prosecution of IBB, Ehindero, Fani Kayode, Governors, Drug Barons, Thieves, Niger-Delta Militants.

Otherwise you will be speaking against your own gospel of Unselectivity.

Tell me why an Armed Robber should be prosecuted when IBB is walking free when it is even possible that if IBB did not steal what belongs to us all, the armed robber would not have gone to rob.
Re: Why On Earth Is Ibb Not In Jail by Mamajama(m): 5:07pm On Jul 03, 2007
KAI you are one comedian, it's not about fighting, can you stand your grounds and hold your head high and answer the questions I asked you. Why should IBB be spared of corruption, it's not about making mistakes.  Hell we all make mistakes on daily basis, but how can you admit he made a mistake when he won't even admit making any mistakes.  TO solve a problem you must 1st identify the issues.

IBB is the ISSUE why corruption is practiced at high level in Nigeria, he liberated, educated and introduced Nigerians to Advance fee fraud, and dope peddlering.  Remember Gloria OKon? DELE GIWA? why is he not coming out and defending himself?  I don't know him and i can careless if he is amputated.  What I dislike about this arrogant toothless bastard is he think he can smile his way through every corruption in Nigerian.  Was his father a sultan? where did he get all the money to invest in all his nefarious activities? how much does a general make in salary?  We must go after this BIG FISH.  Don't worry Yar adua has no balls to even try we all know but IBB is still not safe.

I will ask you one more time.  WHy should IBB be spared and all other accused public figure be probe?
Re: Why On Earth Is Ibb Not In Jail by Mamajama(m): 5:10pm On Jul 03, 2007
BIGB1 if we spend 2 years and 100 Million naira to probe and nail IBB and recover$12 Billion dollars, will you agree that is a good return on investment?

Even Bill Gate and Donald Trump will take that route, so you pessimistic waste of time and money idea is ludicrous
Re: Why On Earth Is Ibb Not In Jail by BigB11(m): 5:16pm On Jul 03, 2007
Please, do me a favor, go ahead and start the prosecution process.

We shall all see the repercussion.

The new administration will be distracted for the next 4 years, innocent will suffer/ die, economy will crumble into dust, corrupt lawyers and judges will get richer, politicians will also get richer, unity among Nigerians will dissolved like ice cube under the sun and at the end of the day IBB will remain free and still smiling in his living room. That is the fact.

Please go ahead and see what happens.

How many happened when Mohamed Babangida was put in custody

There is just a lack of will, why did he not dare OBJ and contest last elections since he was invincible. He rather sort a political solution and realised that Yaradua was his brother after leading his whole family to pick PDP form.

As far as am concerned the man is only a coward who enjoys goodwill as a result of loyalty to his corrupt friends during his days in power. If IBB goes to jail today nobody will loose sleep over that.
Re: Why On Earth Is Ibb Not In Jail by Mamajama(m): 5:27pm On Jul 03, 2007
How will the new administration waste time and be distracted. do you know what separation of power and responsibility is for? we have EFCC to do this job and report back to the chief of staff, the administration can concentrate on other development plan without been distracted. DUDE stop speaking like a 2 year old. and again what do you expect from a Typical Hausa boy that has never held a 9 to 5 job.
Re: Why On Earth Is Ibb Not In Jail by denex: 6:35pm On Jul 03, 2007
Please you people should go and sue IBB. Don't you know that in Law it is allowed for you to sue somebody that has infringed on you, directly or indirectly?

Why are you people wasting time? Why must you guys drag our government into it. Why do you people want to drag our bouncing baby democracy into it.

It's almost the same bunch of you that said the government is illegitimate. Then you want to give it such a legitimate task.

This looks like a grand plot to put this newly, truly true civilian government at loggerheads with the ex-generals. Kinda like a precedence to a military coup.

Please you people should take IBB to court on your own. The rest of us and our new found truly democratic government will take our time and deal with this in the future.
Re: Why On Earth Is Ibb Not In Jail by redsun(m): 7:24pm On Jul 03, 2007
Ofcourse, stealing is a norm in nigeria, authority stealing pass arm robbery, they steal with pen, while the common man who they made to steal will be executed publicly, the politicians are the ones that should be shot ,their actions destroys millions of life.
Re: Why On Earth Is Ibb Not In Jail by BUSHFELLOW(m): 7:38pm On Jul 03, 2007
for all of you who are asking the question why is babangida not in prison this is the answer to you all " POWER DOES NOT GO TO JAIL" That man is still among the most powerful man in this country be it in uniform or anything. get the book MACHIAVELLI THE MAFIA MANAGER OR MACHIAVELLI THE PRINCE and you will understand that power don't go to jail.

eight years of civil rule what meaningful gain did we see rather we heard on the interview cnn hard with the head of the administration that time will come when Nigerians will start to appreciate what he did. if he spent 8 years and we did not appreciate when are we going to appreciate.

As for IBB i think he is not the only one out there that is suppose to be in jail what about the past president, the library in ota is it not enough for him to be locked up, the acquiring of the highest shares in the refinenary that he sold to his friend and lot of others. i think IBB should not be an issue any more what we should be discussing here is how to sponsor a bill that will totally remove the immunity protecting public office holders so they can be held accountable while in office.

We all should move on and ask our senators representing us to make laws that will encourage those that still our money to bring them back home and invest it here so the economy will have a boost. just take a look at what Adenuga did with part of the money he got from babangida the man you all are asking to be sent to jail. i think it is not even up 5 percent of his total money, now imagine when all these crooks now invest the money here rather than soring them abroad for fear of the unknown.

why is obj not in jail?
Re: Why On Earth Is Ibb Not In Jail by BUSHFELLOW(m): 7:50pm On Jul 03, 2007
No one is asking that question. you know why because he is still calling the shot in the ruling peoples democratic party that is currently putting food one most of the people that is contributing to these forum's table. so they can move against their God father now and also remember that majority of the people on this forum are Yoruba's so they cant wish that for him
Re: Why On Earth Is Ibb Not In Jail by denex: 7:54pm On Jul 03, 2007
Reading Machiavelli's book is even too far.

A US court recently sentenced Scooter Libby to jail but today, George Bush has said the man will not go to jail and there's nothing anybody can do about it.

Re: Why On Earth Is Ibb Not In Jail by BigB11(m): 8:21pm On Jul 03, 2007
Now you guys are talking.

Corruption is everywhere and part of life; while we find a better strategy to reduce it we must not lose focus on important issue Nigerian citizens are facing daily.

BUSHFELLOW: Nice one.
You stated that instead of making annoying fruitless noise, we should work together and discover a way to totally remove the immunity protecting public office holders so they can be held accountable while in office.
No need to wait for these bastards to plan their exit strategy; it will just be "Catch and Carry straight to jail"

I truly admire this idea; I think it is another effective way to reduce corruption.
Re: Why On Earth Is Ibb Not In Jail by McKren(m): 9:02pm On Jul 03, 2007
IBB has no immuinity

Why not cash and carry him to jail.

Why must we glorify him after stealling and send other thieves to Jail

The man advising people to read Macavelli's books should also go and read about Geovani Falcone and how the Italian Mafia was destroyed.

The long and short of the story is a Mafia boss is powerful to the extent to which the Government forces are willing to bring them to book.

As far as am concerned bringing a retired treasury looter to book is no rocket science.

You forget that Nigeria is one of the countries in this day and age with "UNTOUCHABLE SYMDROME! It does not start with IBB you know? Where do you start is the question! Then how without the "preponderance" of Evidence! Statutes of limitation has lapsed oh! So please let us move in a different direction and stop crying foul! There are worse people than the gap-toothed general from Minna Mountains oh! Let us not allow statute of limitations to free these recent ones too!

As for IBB's loot, you are not going to smell it! So choose someone else from your village! Charity begins at home they say! grin Abi no corrupt big man for your village? Them full Naija now! So what is your own with IBB?
Re: Why On Earth Is Ibb Not In Jail by BUSHFELLOW(m): 10:02pm On Jul 03, 2007
We are not celebrating injustice but rather we saying that a man like IBB yes has ill gotten wealth. why chase him that has left power for a long time and leave behind the recent crooks that just leave office after spending eight and some are even in the senate to continue it looting and for you mamajama all those people you mentioned were never politicians if they did i mean if they went in to politics many of them will be granted pardon just like bush did to Scooter Libby and also what Regan during his days in office.

look politicians knows how to play their cards well if you are corrupt and you know that might be arrested anytime it is imple just stsy in the wining party i mean the ruling party and see if you wont be going scout free.

Adedibu and IBB Who is more worst and who is suppose to be in jail as of now. what about the Uba's look my there IBB played his card with dignity staining even the hands he know will call for his head some day he is a genius. no wealthy man in Nigeria will come out today and say he never benefited from Ibb even ehinderpo the Past Ig. even the dead man Abiola benefited. there is more to june 12 that we all don't know. Not all we find in the pages of tabloids are true some of them are sponsored

Nigerians need to understand that when IBB was a child, he behaved like a child. By this I mean that as a young military head of state, it was survival of the fittest. It was eat or be eaten. It was create a perfect perfidy or be roped into a phantom coup. It was a time of mind unrest but a time of maximum accumulation of wealth because the head of state controlled the lifeline of the nation, the oil wealth. Most of the military heads of State were relatively young, inexperienced in governance, could easily be manipulated by more matured but often hungry sycophants civilian under which platform Abiola falls into for sponsoring a coup that threw out Shonekan and brought Abach into Power (what he later paid for with his life) and the military profession was not in line with leading people to be alive but to die. I think we should forgive all of them for their youthful transgressions and move on and when i say move on i mean checkmate the current politicians make the accountable and stop barking like ribadu a toothless bull dog

Because he has been classified as one of the "untouchables". All the administrations seem to turned a blind eye to all his offences. If he could run for president after robbing us dry then I guess he is really untouchable or simply the smartest guy in the nation. Infact, I think instead of arresting him, they will honour him and give him the title of GCON and also give him the key to the nation.

Hmm! maybe thats why they call him the evil genius.
