As long as the person has no infection, the urine is normally sterile. To that extent therefore, it could be deemed safe to drink. There are some trado-medical practitioners who regularly engage in urine drinking, claiming one benefit or the other derivable from it. The late Elizabeth Kafaru was one of such.

Personally, I would advise against it. Apart from the generally disgusting nature of it, my logic is that since the body has decided to get rid of those substances because it no longer has need for them, it doesn't make much sense to have them re-ingested by drinking one's urine.
