Christianity vs Islam arguments are getting stale and boring.

How about two faiths with completely different origins and mostly unrelated myths

Christianity vs Buddhism

Which is the true way to salvation?

The fundamental differences between Buddhism and Christianity, is while Christianity is at its core monotheistic and relies on a God as a Creator, Buddhism is generally non-theistic and rejects the notion of a Creator God which provides divine values for the world.

Christianity focuses on Grace
Buddhism focuses on karma(in Hinduism and Buddhism: the sum of a person's actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as deciding their fate in future existences.)

Salvation from what?

Salvation from Who?

Why do you need salvation if you are not In Trouble just like a person whose house Is Not On Fire Never Calls for Help?

This is the ground of Christianity.

Ditto! That karma thing is Only One of our Several Species of Laws Running, Operating and Controlling the world.

So Buddha is only describing what Our God has already Prescribed and Set in Motion! grin

Do now you see why He is The Greatest, The Highest and The Only God, Who is God? grin grin

Ok let's get into the Buddhist myths.

Salvation from the eternal cycle of reincarnation.
Continued life is seen itself as suffering.

And the only way to break this cycle is through reaching enlightenment, by following the teachings of the Buddha.

No, the ground of Christianity is the belief in God the flesh died for our sins, and if you have faith in him, you have a promise of eternal life and escaping damnation in the lake of fire.

Karma in the Buddhist and Hindu context is predicated on reincarnation.
If you were say, a horrible person in this life, you may get reincarnated as pig in the next life - an example.

So Buddha is only describing what Our God has already Prescribed and Set in Motion! grin

So why did Buddha not described your God, and did not tell his followers to worship him?

If any one was Bola Tinubu, Dangote, Dino Melaye, Warren Buffett and co, "Reincarnation would be great and welcome idea and all the Natural Fears eg Fear of Old age, Death, Suffering would be kept in abeyance.

Further, it is the Bulk Poor who hate reincarnation and would require to be delivered from it.

Now this Definitely would be unfair and unjust eternal living based on the fact a person is rich or poor, therefore, it is Imbalanced Compared to The Lord who after he has dealt with all, whether rich or poor Guarantees Eternal Life of Sweet Living for all who Qualify for it, Completely and Absolutely Dealing with All The things that we Fear, (who are actually One of His Many Servants eg, death, hell, which are Seen and Known Already not Conjectures like "reincarnation".

Therefore, God deals with Real life (as ordinary folks say) Budha deals with "novels", sci-fi and fiction.

Son, we own the world, thus, we have many grounds, BUT the Summation of All those Grounds As A Whole Unit Is on The Ground that we are in Trouble with Him Whose Troubles you Do Not want, if you do not want them and if you are wise to not want them.

In line with the knowledge that whose house Is Not On Fire Never Calls for Help!

And this this why we are greater than all including budha because reincarnation does not harm every one only the poor but The Lord Can Harm All whether rich or poor! grin

DeusXmachina:

So why did Buddha not described your God, and did not tell his followers to worship him?

If it did, would he be god-budha? Surely Not grin

Shall he not become Mr. budha like our Mr. Job and liable to be discountenanced? grin Most Assuredly I say, Most Assuredly grin
