Good news:
So many Nigerians have NIN and they are unaware. The truth is that everyone that did their BVN when it was introduced in 2014 has NIN automatically assigned to them.
Just dial *346# with the same number you registered for BVN and retrieve your NIN. Don't go to NIMC centres to queue, Covid19 is real.

I did my NIN last year just because I wanted to renew my passport because that was the requirements now for renewal.

I registered with my glo number with my bvn(they requested for it).

Fast forward, i dialed *346# on both sim cards to confirm, I got the known NIN for my glo sim which was also the same NIN that was written on my international passport. The MTN sim gives me something else(different NIN)

I was shocked and confused, so i just ignored the one attached to my MTN sim

I checked with the *346#,it came out with the same NIN number in my NIN ID card....

convulsively, if you have BVN,you automatically must have had NIN indirectly..
That,ended my doubt anyway!!!

Bros, I have both man and airtel line. I don't have NIN number. I saw a news here on nairaland few days ago that the offices of the NIMC are close till further notice. Could this be true?

One good Samaritan from this forum helped me to confirm my own NIN without collecting any money. He only asked for my mtn number and my name. He sent the paper that contained my details to my mail. His name is Hassan

What about someone like me that doesn't have an NIN number? An't hope of getting help from Hassan?

Yes the NIN is already yours.. It is still the same number that will be activated when you eventually visit any nimc office..link your phones numbers to the generated NIN.. I will however ask you to try and register as soon as possible cos this is Nigeria and they can crazily come up with any stupid excuse tomorrow..

I have both mtn and airtel lines. They are new ones. I dialed *346# on the man line and it told me that my data does not exist and it asked me to go to the nearest NIMC office.

That's exactly what NIMC is facing right now..
..
They are already in a lot of mess due to Harmonisation from varied sources.
They are facing identity mis-match and data mis-match in gross quantities.

Which is why i keep saying that they will extend this whole thing till the end of 2021 combined with the coro virus

It was harmonized. When I went for my NIN (not recently) I was asked if I have BVN. When I provided it, they checked and told me I have NIN already. They just asked me to confirm the info they already have. They still gave me a form but have filled the NIN before they gave meyo fill and submit again
