obembet: Not only you brother. I am sad right now. Imagine no one not being able to reach me at the moment. You can imagine my phone was robbed from me on the 30-12-2020 with a two barrel locally made piston gun pointed at me by a lazy Nigeria youth. That's after robbing a POS lady where I wanted to go collect money. I jejely gave the idiot the phone together with my wallet containing two of my ATM cards with the idiot screaming at the top of his voice tell me the pin now. I went and told him a wrong pin. He immediately jumped into their car and they zoomed off. Now, I decided to go to Mtn office to retrieve my line, only for them to tell me they are neither selling new Sims nor retrieving stolen/lost Sims. Imagine not being able to access the internet. I am now using my brother phone to browse. This is my plight at the moment. So I am happy to see this news. At least, by first week of January, all those that want to retrieve their Sims will be able to do so. 1 Like |

When I still replace my SIM early this week. Thanks to roadsider in my area, even if headquarters of telecom cannot replace or upgrade your SIM, the roadsider in my area will do it and start working with immediate effect. I went to Airtel office for replacement and I was told they don't replacement for now. I just go to my roadsider, he never disappoint me, within few minutes get a new SIM and working very fine, how those guy use to do it still remains mystery to me |

BrickDevo:Same here.Called today and they said it's not being done for now. I am guessing the official circular to the telcos has not reached them yet. I am sure by next week after the festive and new yr holidays, they will start. You would be surprised at the millions of people that need to do welcome back, mainly due to stolen phones. It's stunning the number of phones that have been stolen just the past 2weeks or so. |

A confused country with confused leaders. Countries of the world that work, just one special number like your SSN in the case of the US has all the needed nformation about a person. But here in Nigeria, with BVN, NIN, National Identity Card, International passport, etc; and yet a person's data is still not fully captured; hence, he or she can commit crime and can never be traced! I never see a good for nothing country like this one before. Shior! |

What stops them from registering new SIMs after verifying the person's NIN? If SIM card registration done by telecom companies is not a mere waste of time, why stop new registrations because of NiN? Enough of rhetorical questions. Nobody answers them. #Release the Catholic Archbishop of Owerri. |
