VACANCY (ACCOUNT OFFICER )

JOB DESCRIPTION

A Real Estate firm in Lagos has a vacant role for an Account Officer.

Job Summary
• Keeping and Maintaining financial records.
up-to-date and accounting operations based on accounting principles.
Checking for inaccuracies in invoices / Receipts
• Preparing financial statements / Reports and Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
• Reconciliation of payables and receivables
• Payment Confirmation
• Resolving accounts to the general ledger.
• Ensure payment receipt and invoices are sent when due.
• Book keeping and Handling queries related to accounts.
• Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis as may be required.
• Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
• Secures financial information by completing data base backups.
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
• Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and getting disbursements approvals
• Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
• Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
• Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, or other tax requirements.
• Perform all other tasks as assigned
• Candidate must be an Accounting Graduate or a related course.
• At least 1-year professional accounting experience
• Proficiency in using MS Office tools
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Accounting software
• Solid analytical skills and Detail-oriented.

 Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and good communication skills

 Strong interpersonal skills.

 Extensive knowledge of Tax Laws and Compliance Laws.
