The truth they should be able to get NIN as non Nigeria provide they have resident permit, so all foreign national living in Nigeria should have resident permit and this entitled them to get the NiN number....well am not saying this is what will happen but I guess is the closest thing to happen. I live abroad and immediately you have resident permit in that country you are entitle to their ID that you can use in any govt office in that country

not sure but on the form there is a space for nationality and non-nigerian is part of the options. Maybe with document that can affirm the fact that you belong to the corn3 you claim.

Reading a lot of replies here, many Nigerians need to travel abroad for exposure.
First of all, not everyone living in Nigeria is Nigerian and secondly what about people that will come into Nigeria on 2-7 days business visit. They should also queue at NIMC centers?

The government did not give this policy much thought at all.

In the UK, as a tourist you can get Lyca sim and use it without stressing yourself about registration. Such a policy without gradual implementation is going to cause trouble and make Nigeria harder to conduct business in. But what do I know..

the policy is stupid as government that introduce it. In others country, network companies only required government approved ID of any type to register SIM, that way foreigners can obtain sim with their passport.
But in Nigeria everything is different from the type of president we had to type of democracy.

They are doing everything they can to monitor the social media, remember Lai Mohammed said it. They felt totally stupid during the ENDSARS & now want to be able to get every information about social media users when it happens again. The thing is they will look like the mumu they are when it happens again & very soon too.

Good question, I don't know how I can get NIN, I register for NIMC for past 5 years yet the main card not available, I fill form and pay for driving license since at road safety office since 3 years, I no see any card.

Now I don't have plan to visit nigeria in 2 years coming, I will loose my mobile number.

I don't understand how our government think

There are dedicated NIN registration centers in some countries. I did my NIN (due to passport needing renewal)here in Chicago around August or so. There are centers in Houston and New York as well. Still not enough though, considering the size of the USA.

There was a registration early 2020 at the NIS offer for foreigners, (it was suspended due to the pandemic) and According to Nigerian Immigration Service, Non Nigerians are not to do nin. according to them, you can be arrested for it.
