Two Bombs Defused At Buhari's Rally In Katsina

Men of of the Nigerian police claimed they foiled a bomb plot at the venue of Muhammad Buhari's rally in Katsina earlier today. Policemen protecting the venue of a massive rally inBuhari'shome state, Katsina said they apprehended and retrieved two bombs hidden a bag before the rally.

The bomb plot is coming on the heels of an attempt to bribe the Emir of Katsina by an advance team sent by President Jonathan, according to a palace source, Dr. Dalhatu Sarki Tafida and Isayat Balat met with the Sarkin Katsina before a scheduled meeting between Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and nothern emirs and mallams in Kaduna to offer some monies in dollars but the Emir rejected the bribe.

The emir reportedly told Jonathan's emissaries that the People's Democratic Party (PD) was buried with late president Umaru Yar'adua in the ancient burial ground of the city of Katsina.

After the meeting in Kaduna with National Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), each of the particiapnts were reportedly offered N1 million ($7,000) for transportation back to their respective states.

This is to say the least, shameless. A president bribing everybody with dollars in his country? This must stop! This is criminal and Jonathan must be called back later to explain where he got all these money.

Knowing the notoriety of the Power Disaster People (PDP) and a President whom upon becoming a President, there has been escalated bomb threats attacks across the country, I would not be far from the truth that this alleged bomb attack is possibly from the PDP quarters.

The sheer malady and despondency of GEJ over this election is beyond him being a clueless President. GEJ surely knows how to spend money without being prudent! And in true accountability of public funds, he must be questioned on how he got this money?!

How long does he (Goofluck) think people's conscience can be bought with our own stolen money?

Nigerians are wiser now. Save Nigeria Group told us of the $50,000US that Jonathan tried to give them upon their visit to him.

Now it is about offering each participant, $7,000 for been members of the National Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs.

This decaying system of government surely must come to an end by Nigerians collectively rising up and casting their vote for CHANGE.

The only constant thing in life is CHANGE not goodluck!

Let us arise and vote out PDP/GEJ. We cannot continue to live in this country like this dear God.

You are so sure that it was Mr. President who planted the bomb right? Well, I thank God that Mr. President has empowered the police to rise up to the ocassion. If the bomb had exploded you will blame Mr. President. Now that the bomb was stopped you also blame him. It is a shame

you actually believe the president has a handle on the situation? this country is fractured and mr pres most certainly is not as omnipotent as you believe he is.

I never said he is omnipotent, I know about the fracture. Yet, the maturity with which he handled the Yaradua issue, the commitment to free and fair polls, his gentlemanly approach to the campaigns both during the primaries and now, the stopage of several bombs has shown that we have a change.

Concerning the fractures:

Would Buhari tolerate the South South if they rise agaisnt him in the same way Jonathan will tolerate the North West if they rise agaisnt him?

2011: CPC dismisses threat by S’East govs
…Says Buhari presidency, the shortest route to Igbo 2015
From: FRANCIS AWOWOLE-BROWNE, Abuja

Friday, April 01, 2011

Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) has warned that the South-east governors would be taking a big risk if they deny any community in the region deserved government attention on account of their support for General Muhammadu Buhari in the coming elections.

The party said yesterday the governors had threatened to stop government patronage to any community, which supports Buhari or the CPC and challenged them to carry out the threat and face the grave consequence.

National Vice-Chairman of the Party, South-east, Austin Amaechi, alleged in Abuja that the PDP governors in the South-east as well as their counterpart in Anambra State had warned the people not to have anything to with CPC, threatening to deny any community that romances the party infrastructure.

“These governors said any town that fails to vote for their preferred candidates, including Goodluck Jonathan will lose the state governments’ patronages, including cancellation of any current government project in such community. This is a sheer political talk and can never represent an implementable policy of any government,” he said.

Amaechi stated that the governors were pursuing their own personal interest while lying to the Igbo that the Jonathan/Sambo ticket was the best for them, pointing out that General Buhari was a true friend of Igbos and that his presidency would best suit the interest of the Igbos in the current political calculation.
The CPC Chieftain urged the Igbos to ignore whatever threat coming from the governors and vote CPC because “Buhari/Bakare 2011 manifesto gives a significant belief and commitment to Igbo dream of producing the president in 2015 because the ticket believes that the South-east and, indeed, Ndigbo have the capacity to produce the president of Nigeria in 2015.”

“If the truth must be told, the Buhari/Bakare ticket in 2011 is the shortest course we, Igbos, have to achieving the Ndigbo 2015 demand. My advice is that Ndigbo should vote for Buhari ticket because Buhari is a known honest person and capable of solving our intractable problems of decayed infrastructure, electricity and others.

“There must be a deliberate policy by Ndigbo to put ourselves with or behind the ticket that gives the region the best chance of achieving our demand in 2015,” he stated.
