Tomatoes farming and trading is a very big business, due to the fact that almost everybody eats the vegetable. In Nigeria, tomato farming is majorly done in the northern part of the country so tomatoes and other farm produce are cheap up north. I visited one of the biggest tomatoes market located at (Central market kaduna ) to know the current price of tomatoes.

You can get a basket of tomatoes now for #2500 now. We spoke to a trader he said the price of the good normally changes but, it's cheaper now. He added that you can get the bigger basket for # 3500.

The trader added that most of the traders in the market are farmers to, if they can get support to boost the business, the price of food stuff will be cheaper.

If Northern Nigeria political leadership take their LONG THROAT from Niger delta crude oil money and face mechanized farming ( agriculture ) and put in all the strength, energy, determination and technological knowhow that it deserved.

They will change their situation in the north and in the entire country.

They all just need to put in an extra effort and the progress that is desired will be achieved.

Go to Ogoni land crude oil devastation and they can not farm and grow greener crop like the tomatoes you see in the pictures.

All the 19 northern states which comprised the core north and the Middlebelt states needs to start a large scale mechanized agriculture and forget about crude oil money at the federal level.

FREE OIL MONEY is breeding laziness throughout Nigeria.

Young people just want easy money and leave farming for the aged women and men.

The north must also end this insecurity that is consuming most part of the country both fulani bandits and other forms of kidnapping.

Central Market KADUNA can't possibly be the biggest tomatoes market in KD. No vehicle loads tomatoes out of central unlike Zaria and Makarfi markets.

If a basket of the is sold 2500 at KD central market then Zaria and Makarfi would sell at 1800 and 1600 respectively!

Once our mumu political leaders can give us good rail systems that will crisscross the country , farm produce will be very cheap all year round .

If you watch videos where oyibo dey harvest and store tomatoes and plantains, to become a farmer go begin hungry you.

thats why the south need to seriously go into farming....depending on the north for farm produce is like sitting on kegs of gunpowder.....most of their farmers are scared of going to farms, because of insecurity....


States like oyo, osun, akwa ibom, cross river, ondo and ekiti, they have very fertile lands.......oyo alone can feed the entire southwest....

All the farm produce the north are bringing down here, can grow here too......eg tomato, scotch bonnet, red bell pepper, onions, ginger , garlic, water melon, sweet potato, etc.......

And you are sure that Fulani herdsmen are no longer disturbing the farmers in the southwest?

Since Agriculture has become expedient for Government officials to celebrate, we would not tire for seeing pictures like these. Imagine if they worked on fruit factories, to process these fruits, marinate them into Fresh juices, or encourage intra-state trading of these commodities.

I believe rather than focusing on non-existent policies that would not benefit Individuals in the long-run, we develop our agricultural potentials, but who is even the Agric minister. How many people have heard of what this person did.

Northern Nigeria sells the most cheapest in agricultural products follow by soutwest Nigeria but things are very expensive in eastern part of Nigeria

But Bwana Ugu , Palm oil and Palm Wine are more cheaper in East

The difference is so much. I bet it doesn't cost less than 6k in a place like Lagos
