My Fellow brethren, some things sometimes sounds weird if one doesn't have a proper understanding of such.

I would like anyone who can explain why the 'Lord' shut the womb of Hannah according 1 Samuel 1:5.

Please i would like answers with fact and Mods should help push this to front page

If you are a Christian, ask the question when next you go to Bible study or Sunday school.

To discuss this, it has to be understood from a myriad of angles. The first place to stand from is the Character of God, in which He Himself says his throne is established on justice and truth....

Point one here is the husband had two wives, but showed more love and concern which by himself evoked uneasy feelings, jealousy and rancour in His own home.

When these kind of feelings are stirred up, other people who feel their needs are violated can begin to conjure, plot, wish, pray and petition the Lord about the unfair treatment and should the parties be found wanting, the Lord will respond and act in line with what was petitioned... A lack of equity in an institution equity was expected...

1. The husband promoted toxic atmosphere in his home and it led to a scenario of having her womb shut.

It's not about her, or her wrongs, but a complexity of desires and thoughts.. Hence we should be careful not to stir up jealousy in people as even their unspoken words and thoughts can cause great harm. For confirmation of this experience check similar incidences throughout scriptures, even Jacob the patriarch suffered this same fate.

2. The Lord can shut the womb of Hannah and infact do likewise to anyone out of pure love. Without the person doing any wrong. I'll explain. The scripture says those whom the Lord loves he chastises. Meaning that He can chastise Hannah or anyone in that situation call it a test or trial, with the earnest expectations that the chastisement will push the individual not further but rather to God. And from that place of deep yearning and thirst for Divinity producer a purer result than when the person isn't in a place of Chastisement. I'll explain. Because out of her cry, Hannah asked for a son and gave to God, if it wasn't for her chastisement, she could have had a normal child. But because of be condition, she got a child God forever honours for life.

There wouldn't have been a fully formed David and all the mighty things through his lineage if there wasn't a skilled prophet who helped him along the way. So, the Lord permits inflictment in our lives and in turn it pushes us into a better relationship with Him and that level of faith causes us to pull out even more glorious results from Him

3. God shut her womb ahead because He needed a prophet. Before Samuel judges rules and God needed who could instil a sense of purpose and direction. Hence a prophet. Trust me, Samuel was more than a prophet but a pre-incarnated form of Jesus to provide guidance and lead. Hence the Lord created the spiritual atmosphere for those kind of persons in this case Samuel to come. Ask any woman any great child comes with great tribulations around the time the mother would be conceived.

In as much as I tried to understand the bolded, but i think it isn't the way you think it is.

Personally, and according to Klein that suggests that Elkanah took Peninnah as a second wife because of Hannah's barrenness (from Wikipedia)

Myriad of reasons. Follow. So that will be adding to scripture. The Bible did not at any instance suggest the reason behind the second wife and unless the husband left a note, no one truly knows the circumstances. Any ideas in this case would merely be assumed.

Many times the Lord would permit things to be shut so His glory can be revealed as we seek him better and more in times of crisis
