lion can't near those fierce guys.. we just calling out lions as if it's the strongest mammal, why not consider tigers, they're bigger and stronger than lions to the point that one on one a lion can't stand a chance .

Even though a tiger is bigger than a lioness, but I doubt a tiger can handle a full grown male lion. Those ones are the real beast.

Females may hunt a buffalo calf or sick buffalo bull but would usually not target a healthy bull or large female. They have nasty kicks and the horns would kill a lion if punctured. And they have very strong neck muscles.

Elephants are usually avoided by lions, again a young calf may get targeted by hunting females but that has been known to be dangerous elephants are group grazer are superior social animals, they are know to team up to defend their positions fiercely.

Hippos are just a no go area for any animal in Africa even elephants would avoid hippos. A male bull is a killing machine only mosquitos and guns kill more people yearly in Africa.
