Hello Everyone I will be discussing some key investment Opportunity that i want the public to take advantage of in 2021.

So, Permit me to start with Dredging and Sand Mining


Dredging and Sand Mining
is the removal of sand from the bottom of lakes, rivers, harbors, and other water bodies to a designated position for personal or commercial use.

This sand mining sector have been making a lot of profit over the years in a low key pattern because only few investors have an idea of how this sector works. This sector gives investors different investment options, depending on how much the investor have to invest in the sector.

The big fish of the industry such as Japaul Group, VTN Dredging, Nigeria Westminster Dredging and Marine among others have made million in dollar working on project such as reclamation, stockpiling etc. within Lekki, Ajah, Ibeju lekki and Epe axis and beyond. This particular Industries do not have any dull moment in term of cash inflow because a lot of other economy sectors such as Real estate contractors, Road Contractors etc depend directly on the sector to actualize the dream. And as a matter of fact 70% of the economy actives going on now is either about road construction, real estate construction, refinery construction, sea port dredging and land reclamation. So as long as there is a construction project going on in the country there is always a need for this sector.

From the year 2018 alone Dredging projects in Lagos amount to $10.1 billion Dollar, which is the minimum estimated amount of money made in cash by dredging companies in Lagos alone, from project ranging from Reclamation, stockpiling etc.

So for people thinking that they might not be able to venture into this business, because they do not have the financial power to invest or compete with the big fish of the industry.
You are wrong and also right…

You are Wrong, for every investment there is always an option for you to start small and grow steadily.

You are right, because there is possibly no way on how you can start or invest in the business today and start to compete with the major big guys in the league, you will only need to start small and steady, allow your investment grow and then think of expansion.

You will never be able to compete with the big player of the industry and the sole purpose of my write up is definitely not for that.
There is a list of sub categories or Downstream sector in the industries where you will be able to make reasonable amount of income ranging from 300k to 9miillion naira on monthly basis, If you give it a trial.

I am not bluffing.

You do not need to bother yourself with the “HOW and WHERE” questions of the business, everything will be handled by Us or your manager assign to oversee the process.

So, talking about the sub categories, we have the EQUIPMENT LEASING, LAND LEASING, LPO SAND SUPPLY. Although there are a lot of sub categories but permit me to explain how you can make money from these few sub categories.

EQUIPMENT LEASING: In other for you to be able to lease an equipment you will need to be an owner, the cost of owning an equipment varies from prices to prices. But there are few options, available for investors that have no large bulk of money for investment.
So instead of buying a CHINESE CONVERSIONAL DREDGER for a bogus fee and also having limited possibilities, I would advise you buy A SET OF TRANSPORT DREDGER or A SELFLOADING TRANSPORTER AND A PUSHER. For me I prefer the self-loading transporter and a pusher because it is economical and do more job than even the complete set of transporters.

So, I will skip the Chinese dredger cost breakdown because it’s pretty much expensive. It cost from 70miilion naira to 300 million naira depending on the size. The cost of running it for operation is even more expensive among other expenses like manpower and fueling.
Most times owner of these kinds of dredger use them for million-dollar reclamation projects and vice versa. The big sizes for these dredgers are common among the big fish dredging companies. The monthly rental fee can be around 6 million to 25million naira monthly based on the size. But in most cases, it very rears for you to get jobs for these types of dredger especially if you own the bigger size. So, I would not advice any new investor to venture into buying the dredger, if you do not have a major stand by project.

The cost of A COMPLETE SET OF TRANSPORT DREDGER which includes, A Master deredger,3 Transporters and a pusher is around 70million naira to 150million depending on your desired specification. The only reason why I do not really like to recommend this equipment is that, the cost of operation and manpower needed too is a bit on the high side, but aside that it has no limited possibilities it can mine sand for you at any depth unlike the Chinese dredger that have limitation on the depth at which it can pick up sand depending on its size.
The monthly rental fee for a complete set of transporters – Master dredger,3 transporters of 35cubic each and a pusher is around 4.5million to 5million naira .it can go higher to 6miilion naira if the size of the transporters is up to 70cubic each.

SELF LOADING TRANSPORTER AND A PUSHER is the recommended equipment for small investor looking to start small and steady in the dredging industry. It would cost around 17million to 30miilion depending on the size to get a self-loading transporter and a pusher. The cost of operation for fueling and man power is very very low compare to the Complete set of Dredger as discussed above. Another fact is that this equipment if the hot cake in the market and is very scares to come by. The monthly rental fee for a 90cubic self-loading transporter and a pusher is a minimum of 6mllion and can go as high as 9million naira on monthly basis which for me is not bad investment for anyone on a 30miilion naira deal.

We have LAND LEASING as another major Investment venture in the sand mining sector. The practice of buying and leasing out land for stockpiling and Joint venture is another practice in the sector.
Investors can buy land close to the lagoon or the sand dredging areas, and give it out for lease to dredging companies that are looking forward to sand stockpiling for commercial sales or personal use. The cost of buying the land ranges from 6million to 20million depending on the location and closeness to sand mining market demand at the time, and even in most cases these types of lands are very scares to purchase because it’s always like a gold mine for the owner. The Interesting thing is that Land owner can make from around 3million to 6 million or more on yearly basis, with no maintenance cost whatsoever, which is still a reasonable investment.

The second part of the LAND LEASING is the Joint venture, this part is very profitable and lucrative. The simple definition of the joint Venture is the collaboration of a dredger owner and a site owner to reach an agreement on the mode of work, profit sharing formular and responsibility formular for the sand mining operation which can either be land reclamation, stockpiling etc. Although the Joint venture agreement have it own challenges but one can not simply rule out that it is a very profitable avenue for the land owner, because in most cases it enable the land owner to earn on monthly basis based on the sharing formular.
Let me quickly sight an example below;
If a sight owner and a dredger own agree on sharing formular of 20% to 80%.
Which means that Sight owner get 20% and dredger owner get 80%.
If at the end of the month, amount realized for total sand mine is 20million.
If have of the 20million naira is used for Fueling, accommodation allowance and vice versa
The Site owner and Dredger owner will share the remaining 10million in the ration of 20% to 80%, which is still very reason as an investment for any site owner.

The last part for the SAND MINING is the LPOs for Sand Supply
Various companies have also helped in booming the Dredging and sand mining sector, with the commencement of project like Lekki free trade zone project, Lagos Atlantic city project, Dangote refinery project, Lagos badagry express road project among others.
We have helped quite a number of clients get this LPOs, and benefactors have racked in millions of naira.
A lot of people don’t have to owe a land or dredger to benefit from this LPOs for sand supply.
