On my way back from ikeja yesterday. While stucked in traffic, a mad man fell few steps away from my traffic stop, he hurriedly stood up and approached me with an angry face, a stone in one hand and a dirty nylon with fried dodo on the other hand. He was signaling me to wind down that I almost ran him over. (I was at a full stop before he fell)

“Sorry”; I signaled him back, waving my hand.

He got wild all of a sudden and started using the stone to “gently” hit the glass. He kept saying so many things that kept me signaling him “sorry” with an “Eyahh” face. He paused for a while and said “give me money, I want to buy food”

He kept asking for money and repeatedly hit my glass, while I kept I demonstrating to him that “I don’t have money” and as well tried to shoo him away.

The traffic eased a little, I slowly moved away from him, he was almost following me because the traffic was slow.

I don’t know if you guys knows about this scam already. That man is not a mad man. That is his own daily hustle. He is using mans greatest enemy, “FEAR” to extort money from motorists.

Here are what I noticed when he started the drama;

1; falling in front of my stop was all part of the scam.

2; the stone he carried with him was to instill fear in motorists.

3; Hitting the car’s window with stone would make anyone with a very timid mind to quickly dole out money to him to make him go away.

4; he was actually hitting the window glass “gently”. A confirm mad man would not unnecessarily threaten you or your car’s window glass with a stone and “gently” pet the glass with the stone. He’ll smash it to pieces without a second thought. Same goes for your head if in the same position.


5; I also saw he was not actually applying much pressure to stone when he was “gently” hitting the window glass. More like he was very aware of the amount of pressure to apply when hitting the glass to avoid breaking it.


6; he maintained a direct eye contact with me. A mad man isn’t stable enough to maintain a direct eye contact. What this scammer is doing is, he maintains a wild and fearful eye contact with his victims to instill fear in them.


7; he actually knows his victims. Most especially women, ajebor looking men and the likes.

8; He avoid tinted cars, make he nor go jam oga with police escorts.

9; he knows he is a mad Man or he is playing a role of a mad man, and you that is not mad will not want to come down from your car to fight or exchange words with a mad man


At the end of the day that fake mad man will make cool money from his scam.
