Prof. Nnenna Nwosu-Nworah, Cordinator, Franco-FUNAI Collaboration yesterday 25th January presented yet another Ph.D Scholar returnee from France and the third Ph.D scholar to return from studies in France, Dr. Saidu Sani, to Alex Ekwueme Federal University management at the New VC’s new office complex. Introducing the beneficiary, the Coordinator said he defended his Ph.D thesis on 15th December, 2020 and completed his Ph.D in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Universite’ de Strasbourg, France, in exactly thirty six months.

Dr. Sani did not hesitate to thank the Vice Chancellor and University Management for affording him the rare opportunity to benefit from the Franco-FUNAI scholarship collaboration. He did not forget to thank the Programme Coordinator, Prof. Nnenna Nwosu-Nworah for all her support and encouragement, assuring that he will do all he could to impart the knowledge he has acquired on his students and attract fund to the young and fast growing University.

Prof. Nwajiuba heartily received the returnee scholar, appreciating him for his outstanding performance out there in France, more so in such highly rated University. Sharing his experiences as a student, way back in Germany, Prof. Nwajiuba commended Dr. Sani for doing the right thing by returning straight back home after his studies adducing that he has even more chances of travelling abroad for conferences and other programmes, for living up to the trust and confidence reposed on him by the university authorities and for keeping to the agreement. He urged him to present his new qualification to management for necessary formalities and upgrade from Assistant Lecturer to Lecturer II.

Prof. Nwajiuba used the forum to advice that those who have opportunity to travel abroad to study should take advantage of such opportunity to learn foreign languages like French, German and other countries, to remain relevant in the changing world, siting Germans as people who are taking good advantage of such opportunities to excel.

Director, Partnerships, Mr. Chris Uwadoka.
