BREAKING: UAE Announces New Law To Grant Citizenship To Expats by Tochyno1995(m): 10:34am On Jan 30, 2021
One of the most popular nations in the middle east is set to make history as the first to grant citizenship to foreign nationals (expats).

His Royal Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed in a series of tweet, this morning, announced the government's decision to grant citizenship to investors, scientists, and professionals alongside their families.

According to the UAE government, this decision aims to attract highly skilled workers to the UAE. It will, as well, boost foreign direct investment in the country as it prepares to host the world EXPO 2020 later in October.

For years, expats in UAE are not allowed to apply for permanent residency or citizenship regardless of their years of residency in the country.

History is about to be made. The oil-rich Arab country whose economy is highly dependent on tourism & commerce, with a 90/10 expat/local population ratio is set to give expats the opportunity to hold one of the most powerful passports in the world.

I am sure she learnt this model from Singapore; some as low skilled workers who will never attain citizenships, then others who are highly skilled who will become citizens.

At the end of the day, economics is what matters not religion or woke ideologies. People need to eat and will do anything to produce the resources to do so. One day, Africans will learn that the economy should be prioritised before anything else.

Kudos to the Emiratis!
