Trying to add a Yoruba faction to a mod for a popular game. Stumbling over minor obstacles, and I figured there would be someone here who might know enough to answer some questions.

.) What's the Yoruba word for "Pistol" or "Pistoleer" (specifically in the context of a pistol-armed cavalryman in 18th-century Oyo)? Think of something like a reiter.

.) How were the armies of 18th/19th-century Oyo/Ibadan composed? What sorts of weapons were preferred by groups in the area at the time, and how might each sort of soldier be referred to?

.) Were there any tactics or strategies that set Yoruba armies apart from those of their neighbors?

.) How did the return of Brazilian immigrants affect Yorubaland?

.) Are there any details you can think of that would benefit a depiction of 19th-century Yorubaland?
