I used to be one who accuse Doctors for almost everything wrong during treatment. I don't mean other health workers in the hospitals aren't important; they're but I am specifically talking about Medical Doctors.
Many of us accuse Doctors for everything wrong in the hospital. We would say "Doctor just give me malaria medicine yesterday, na only typhoid and malaria dem sabi"grin.
We would say there's no X-ray, adequate testing and so much more. We don't have many of these machines and adequate testing equipment and even if we do it would be in Teaching Hospitals and big private hospitals. We must tell ourselves the truth, how many of us can afford the cost? How many people can afford MRI, CT, PET scan? How many people can afford some Pathology test? I don't mean "Ken's Laboratory" where they test for typhoid and malaria. I mean serious tests like H.pylori, Cholesterol level, blood counts and the rest.
We run a system similar to the British where the government is involved virtually in everything so as to prevent an outpour of capitalism and these has helped the country over the years. The only we've had here in Nigeria is just one guy "CORRUPTION".
I read how Doctors have to do surgery with "Razor blade" in some parts in Nigeria. It is unfortunate. The lack of oxygen, Ventilators and so many basic things.
I read a comment about somebody saying Doctors have "Zero conscience". I laughed because I have thought like that but I realised that they're humans and have emotions. Statistics have shown Doctors marriages is likely filled suspicion and domestic violence.
Truth be told we pay for what we get in terms of healthcare. How many of us can afford the likes of Reddington and Eko Medical?
Doctors are not even comfortable these days. In an interview in radio I heard from Various Doctors doing side hustle like"Keke driving, taxi driving, farming and some electrical work". The country has made things difficult for them.
Doctors are trooping out every day and we have insufficient.
In essence VOTE THE RIGHT PEOPLE AND HOLD YOUR LEADERS ACCOUNTABLE.
N:B- I am not a Doc. This is my own thoughts.

the country is presently unfavourable for doctors..what they make in a month having sleepless nights some ppl do in a day to a week without leaving their apartment. it isn't encouraging and mind u to keep being updated in the profession you need to attend updates and conferences both local and foreign that costs money. how many doctors can afford a brand new car, most have zero street knowledge making them loose the little they have from toiling day and night. they have many dependants, and presently we don't have enough doctors to cater for the entire Nigerian population. its so bad that before even gaining admission into med school the students have already made up their they would be leaving the shores of the country to UK, Canada, Australia, USA. presently the govt is trying to push for a unified system for house job. so they can once more control the lives of people who laboured to become fresh med grads by sending them to area that are highly volatile. with the level of insecurity in the country. if they die the govt would show AUDIO CONCERN blow small grammar the dead doc and his dreams would be gone leaving their families to lick their wound.

Very unfortunate. There's a country in southern Africa that have only 500 Doctors to 5million people.
How many urologists do you think Nigeria have that are actively practising here?
