With the new trends going on amongst politicians lately, one can only but wonder if truly, the lies being fed to the citizens by government as regards covid-19 is coherent.

Recently, national identity number (NIN) linkage to the subscribers identity module (SIM) came in as a shock to most Nigerians and many condemned the idea due to the alleged covid-19 cases in Nigeria.

Even in the middle of the pandemic, the federal government gave the order that the citizens must register and make sure their NIN is linked to their SIM.

Their reasons came in the form of making use of such process to tackle insecurity.

But,I personally think otherwise. Why?
Because that order came in few weeks after the #endsars protest that sent shivers down the spine of corrupt politicians. The order came into play, few weeks to the christmas holidays.

You might not make out much from the above written statements but,we'll suspend that for now. smiley

Fast forward to the month of January 2021,the Nigerian president (President Muhammed Buhari) was recorded without a nose mask at one of the events he attended.
At the show of disapproval from the citizens, madam Lauretta Onochie (the President's online activist),popularly known as *the palm wine tapper* didn't waste much time before defended the wrong act of the president.

Thereafter, another news which would actually make you doubt the authenticity of the Covid-19 cases being heightened by the federal government was that of President Muhammed Buhari's personal assistant (PA), who attended an event where all the attendees had no nose mask on.

With all this few observations,it is in no doubt that the federal government is either

1) Using covid-19 as an avenue to generate more pocket money.
2) Using the NIN as a form of lip sealer against the citizens.
3) Oppressing and making it appear as though laws are only meant for the citizens.
4) Have nothing to offer the society, especially in the health sector.
5) Are certainly clueless as to what to do.

Luckily for Nigerians, the pandemic didn't hit harder than it did. All her citizens would've been left with only the sentence **hope on your creator and brace your end**

With all this show of carelessness and incompetence in high places, the government are certainly not transparent just as leaders should be.

This leaves me wondering if there truly is covid-19 in Nigeria??

What is your take??

I sincerely hope that most Nigerians don't have the same mentally as the o.p otherwise the nation would lose enormous amount of money to treat people in a skeletal hospital system and GDP would be destroyed. So you think governments like asking workers to stay at home on full pay abi, they like their tax generating system stalled and a collapsed economy. Get out of here, I'm disappointed in people like you but to be fair your type exists in America and UK as well. A woman died of covid two months ago but she still insisted covid is a scam on her deathbed. Many Americans who never believed in covids existence has been cremated or buried.

Alright then.

I would have appreciated your comment more,if you gave reasons why Buhari and his personal assistant behaved in such a careless manner.

No one is disputing the fact that there is covid in Nigeria. Is it as bad as the government paint it to be?? Are the figures being dished out accurate??
Why do they attend events without nose masks??

Nigerian leaders would do the wrong almost all of the time so their actions cannot be used to judge the reality of things, we are talking of pompous self inflated ignorant fools here, so what did you really expect. The only way to limit the spread of covid is for everyone to be covid aware and limit group contact.

Oh alright.

Then I'm guessing, they themselves don't know the reality. undecided

You have raised sound observations, but I must say when events involves public officers at the highest level, there is more than meets the eye.

COVID-19
Now when you look at the history of COVID, it all started in the US as an experiment to study this virus which is prevalent in cattles, bats etc, before the virus was taken to China for further studies (red flag one), being a mutating virus that becomes better at killing only shows that it has been tempered with i.e (weaponised). Bkos all viruses mutate but not with devasting consequences as the COVID.

How comes this virus had a significant boost in China's leading virology lab at Wuhan (red flag two), where it all started and till date patient zero has never been found, even though the case was initially reported but later scraped, the voices that wanted to let out on the virus during experiments at the lab were silenced (third red flag). The lead virologist on this virus was at this Wuhan lab, and the Wuhan seafood market was close by. (I smell something)

Mind you it's very rare for this virus to be transmitted to humans, very rare.

China knew about the virus before everyone but allowed 4 million of it's citizens to carry it round the globe during the festive season, when you look at how Xi and the political class at the highest level handled the virus issue from inception without the use of nose mask tells you a lot concerning an undertone of there is more than meets the eye. It's either they have the cure, vaccine or were unaware of the deadly effects of the virus.

Again in biological warfare (using disease to wage war) you don't develop a virus you want to spread without a cure in hand.

Back to the subject matter - COVID-19 is very real in Nigeria, infact may to June last year (at the height of the lockdown) a medical insider (won't mention state) told us they had to downplay the numbers just to alleviate public fear and panic but it was deadly, certain factors have worked in the favour of the country first was prayers, secondly our weather was not conducive for the virus to spread, thirdly malaria drugs could cripple the hell out of the virus, fourthly agbo (local herbs) was giving the virus a run for it's money and lastly vitamin C was doing a good job to boost the immune system against the virus. Those who died had complications and deadly ailments which the virus only expedite to their early graves (may their soul rest in peace).

With a combination of any of these a healthy person could treat the virus to a manageable extent if contracted, mind you Nigeria enjoys a good public relations with China, who knows if Xi have given Bubu the cure (just saying, pls don't quote me. Lols)

So having signed a law for the mandatory use of the nose mask, I will fault the president's move on non compliance, however at that level the guy knows more than a virology professor bkos of his position. But to use those two events of the president and his PA to downplay the extent of damage of this virus, you will be making a serious mistake, at that level they have access to things the rich can only hope for, but being more forthright with the new law on their part would have made more sense and send a strong message.

NIN

I would not even want to start on this, the minister is to blame, it's not just bkos of insecurity though the public reason and sincerely it would help, there are tools the government has that tracks citizens of interest right to everything they desire every country has one, especially the intelligence branch, it's not to seal lips, far from it, I can tell you that for free. The deadline has been shifted to April. Again there is more to this.
