Expand your point of view... Home is where you feel the highest level of peace/enjoyment and not your place of birth or country of origin. A lot of intelligent people from Borno would never go back home (with what Boko Haram and the Nigerian military have done to their place of birth).

Similarly Anthony Joshua would likely never come back to live permanently in Nigeria (even though he was born in the UK, he is a bona fide Nigeria according to our nationality law).

There are real estate and construction companies that build or buy houses for Nigerians in diaspora and some of them even have offices abroad (i.e. Canada, USA etc)... move with the times, we are not in 1995. Nobody needs to send money to family for building projects anymore. Some companies have been doing this even before 2009.

It is only if you want to build your house in a village or small town that you would have to look for family members to assist you.

It is similar to how you can buy USA stocks (New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ) from stock brokers' websites with your dollar card (attached to your domiciliary account) while you live in Nigeria.
