Friend, never believe in the worth of a car until a trusted mechanic/auto engineer has inspected it.

Let me share some experiences with you.
1.) A colleague of mine who deals in car sales as a side hustle sold me a Peugeot 307. I bought the car from him based exclusively on trust. Alas, some Nigerians exploit friendship and the trust coming from it to dupe people. Good thing I didn't pay all upfront. I couldn't even drive the car home when it started developing fault. I made sure he paid part of the repair cost even though he protested very loudly. I also ensured I killed that friendship on that account. I had bought different cars since but none from him, neither did I recommend him. That 307 gave me troubles all the time it was with me. I eventually sold it off.

2.) A friend wanted to sell his corolla, a very nice piece of steel. I already learned my lesson so I got my mechanic to check it out only for him to identify problems with the engine. Of course, this guided my negotiations with him.

In short, when it comes to cars never judge the book by the cover. Get an expert to check it out before negotiating how much it is worth.

Atleast get a VIN, run a check, know the date it was brought in and do your estimate on the engine value but I'm to that mileage.

And again, zero maintenance culture plus too many lies on the part of sellers/dealers.

They will never tell u the real faults, until u pay, carry go.

Better go for direct toks if u can't afford tear rubber.


If u insist on this one, go their with a qualified mechanic that can truely confide in u, let him test run the car..check engine, transmission, power steering etc..

Before u negotiate.. Forget the body...

Car good NA for engine, gear, brakes etc..these are the major..

Plus it legs, shaft, bearing etc..

Never trust a friendship when buying things like this...ur mechanic weh sabi is ur guide.

Ps: 2gr isn’t notorious for oil burning. Early 2az productions are even worse.

Get a mechanic to assess it for you. "Female used" has never been a yardstick for assessing used vehicles. Women may be good at 'gentle driving' but women on the average don't follow maintenance schedule the way men would do. In fact, many more don't even usually know when things are going wrong in a car.
