Why Use Options?
There are three main advantages to options:
1) Control,
2) Leverage and
3) Protection

Just as you can control a $200,000 house with a $20,000 down payment, you can control shares of a stock via an options contract. (One option contract controls 100 shares of stock). So with an option, you don’t “own” the shares, yet you’ve paid for the right to “control” them. Back to our house example, you only “own” the house once you’ve completely paid off the $200,000 mortgage. But you get to control the house and take advantage of the appreciation in the home’s value with the $20,000 down payment.

Option trading allows you to potentially increase your return on your money via leverage. Going back to the house example, if you own the house outright for $200,000 and it appreciates $20,000, then you’ve made a 10% gain on your investment in that home.

However, if you control the house for $20,000 and the home appreciates $20,000, then you’ve made a 100% gain on your invested capital. And so it is with options contracts. Yes, options carry risks, certainly. But they also offer up the potential for outsized gains which can help to make the risk worth
taking.

The main thing is to buy an option contract when there is a statistical edge. So that’s why I’m going to give you some simple strategies that will get you into an option contract in a timely fashion and give you a statistical edge in your trading. More on that in a bit…but for now, let’s talk about how you can use options to protect your capital.

Let’s say that you believe in a company and normally you’d buy shares of stock in the company. Let’s say that the stock’s price is $30 per share. It’s very common for someone to buy at least 100 shares of a company. So if you bought 100 shares at $30 per share, you’d have $3,000 tied up in the stock.

In other words, you’d have that much money at risk in that company. But there’s another way of doing this. You could buy an option contract (depending on the expiration month, strike price, etc.) for around $200-$300. (There’s protection because you’re risking roughly $300 rather than $3,000).

I don't trade options and I don't think any Nigeria trading app trades options. I sent that post to educate and enlighten thread members.

Dear reader, you're reading this because you're worried about your job / future . Today I want you to read this 1min short caption. . . .

Q : Do you know why we go to school?
A : We go to school to study.
.
Q : Why do we have to study?
A : To get a job.
.
Q : Why do we have to get a job?
A : To earn money, right?
.
So if the final goal is to make money then why there is no subject on money in our education system? Like seriously. Why don't we learn about this new online world around us? Or learn about investing, money management etc etc?
-
Did you know that there are +330 million people in USA and "coincidentally" 330 billionaires.

It's about 1 billionaire per 1 million people.

Why?
Because our school system does not teach us about finances.

Don't listen to people who haven't done what you're trying to do, they will tell you all the reasons why they think they cant do it, and you might start believing you can't either.
-
You can achieve whatever you want, if you're willing to put in the work.

And only listen to people who've already did it.

1. Minimal Regret Theory

Imagine yourself at age 70 and ask:

What have I regretted in Life?

Now you would have a "Things to Avoid" List,

Follow it Seriously.

2. Never Stop Experimenting

I love the way Jeff Bezos presents it:

If you double the number of experiments you do per year,

You are going to double your inventiveness.

3. Be a Driver, instead of a Passenger.

Don't wait for the future to happen,

Create your own destiny.

4. First Priority should be Customer

You cannot make short-term cheap money by bluffing your customers.

Satisfy the customers, Money will naturally flow.

5. How anyone can make money?

As Jeff Bezos said it:

We don’t make money when we sell things.

We make money when we help customers make purchasing decisions.

6. Build Long-Term Value

Build a product/ service with long-term value

If Jeff Bezos would have thought of short-term cheap games,

Amazon wouldn't be existing today.

7. Be Stubborn to Vision, but Flexible to Plan

The destination should be rigid,

While the path can be flexible as per the demand of situation.

Start investing in stocks with little or no experience.
-Figure out your game plan: Ask yourself what you're looking to achieve by investing, how much risk you're willing to take on and when you'll need the money.
-No such thing as a small investment: Stick to a budget that allows you to take care of your expenses and pay down any high-interest debt.
-How to get started: If you're saving for something other than retirement or need access to your money more quickly, you can opt for a taxable brokerage account, with a company like Trove, Trading212, Bamboo or Passfolio, instead. That means you'll have to pay taxes on any investment income within the account. This can include selling a stock or when your cash balance earns interest. It's important to note that these gains or income are taxable in the tax year they were earned — not when they are withdrawn.
-Where else can you open accounts?: Online brokers and robo-advisors are some other places where you can open accounts.
-Understanding your options: Once you've opened an account, you'll want to explore your investment options and the risk they carry.
-No matter what route you take, investing is another way to grow your wealth, or as the saying goes "make your money work for you."

Growing wealth is actually easier than people think. It's the patience to let it happen that is rare.

Everyone wants to be rich, but almost nobody gets rich overnight. Warren Buffett made more than 80% of his wealth after he turned 50.

The point? Instead of finding some get-rich-quick scheme, it's better to use the tried-and-true wealth-building method that works just as well today as it did half a century ago.

There are ways to get rich quickly, but until you have learned to get rich slowly, you will go from rich to broke even more quickly. Once you have your system automated and churning properly, then move your energy into the scaling up of income generation by starting a side hustle or a business.

Disclaimer: this investment strategy is to be used for long-term investing where there is an assumption that the price of the asset will increase over time.

Dollar-cost averaging is a strategy that almost certainly will get results that are as good or better than aiming to buy low and sell high. As many experts will tell you, nobody can time the market.

The number of shares purchased each month will vary depending on the share price of the investment at the time of the purchase.

When the share price rises, your money will buy fewer shares per dollar invested. When the share price is down, your money will get you more shares.

Over time, the average cost per share you spend will probably be quite favorable with the price you would have paid if you had tried to time it.

8 Things I Wish I Knew Sooner

1. Be Grateful.

The benefits of gratitude are backed by science. It improves your well-being.

Gratitude shifts the mind from "I need" "I don't have enough of" to "I'm so happy" "I have enough."

The effort to change this mindset is minimal. But the difference is monumental.

2. Everything starts in the mind.

All you have control over is your mind.

By learning to master the mind, you'll master your life and realise a power far greater than anything outside yourself.

3. Failure is a positive.

We’re taught from a young age that failure is a negative.

After all, you did something, and it wasn't successful.

However, you should see each failure as a valuable opportunity for growth.

A chance to grow that will inevitably lead to success.

4. Time is precious.

Our time is finite.

However, most of us live contradictory to that.

We waste years at jobs we hate.

Stay with people we're not entirely happy to be with.

Tolerate situations that don't make us feel fulfilled

Remind yourself that time is precious.

5. Be Present.

The ability to quietly be with yourself and be aware of what is occurring around you is a skill you have to work hard on.

It will improve the quality of your mind.

To be in the moment is a powerful experience full of benefits.

Please take advantage of it.

6. Apply Your Lessons.

There’s very little connection between gathering knowledge and achievement.

You need to make an effort to apply what you learn actively.

Study the information, put it into practice, and teach others your example of creating success in your life.

7. Protect Your Time.

Leaders tend to be great at prioritising what is most important to them.

Reflect on what you spend your time doing and make the necessary changes to realize the life of your dreams.

8. Happiness Is Not Material.

The pursuit and purchase of physical possessions will never fully satisfy our desire for happiness.

It may result in temporary joy for some, but the happiness found in buying a new item rarely lasts longer than a few days.

We have 1440 minutes to spend each day.

1020 minutes after accounting for sleep.

Spend your time on things that bring you closer to your goals and happiness. Everything else is just noise.

Gotta give props to Gary Vee for the line “looking backwards f*cks with your neck”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Not only that, it f*cks with your progress.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Focusing on what’s already happened or what you “should have done” or when you “should have started investing” or when you “should have launched that business” or when you “should have statutes paying down that debt” sucks precious energy from the now.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Not to be cliche, but the now is all we have.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our future is built on what we do and focus on now.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If there are repercussions from your past mistakes that you’re having to handle, handle them. But don’t let those mistakes define what comes next for you.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Let the dead bury the dead and focus on what’s in front of you.

In order to start balling, you first have to B-ALL-IN

Go all in on YOURSELF.

Plan out your goals, and slowly execute them.
Also, every day, I usually make affirmations whether it’s to relieve anxiety or to manifest better things for myself. Here are some examples of Affirmations you can start telling yourself.

(I know it can sound silly at first but words have power)

-I am ready for a fresh new start
-I am optimistic for what’s to come
-Success comes easily to me
-I let go of the past and welcome the future
-I am proud of what I have accomplished
-My vibe attracts my tribe. I am committed to raising my vibration
-Life is happening for me: not to me

STOCK: SALESFORCE, INC - CRM.

Salesforce is a customer relationship management solution that brings companies and customers together. It's an integrated CRM platform that gives all your departments including marketing, sales, commerce, and service a single, shared view of every customer.

Salesforce is one of many big-cap tech stocks to watch this year as demand for next-generation collaboration and productivity tools has increased due to lockdowns. In addition, many companies aim to automate operations and track key business metrics in order to support employees working from home.

Salesforce is the clear market leader in the customer relationship management (CRM) space. The company has nearly 20% market share, which has helped it onboard over 150,000 customers, which in turn has powered strong revenue growth.

The company reported 20% year-over-year revenue growth in the fourth quarter of the company’s 2021 fiscal year, which ended on Jan. 31.

Stocks [don’t] only go up.

As a long-term investor, short-term volatility shouldn’t bother you. Take advantage of it by purchasing stocks at a discount.

If you can’t handle the volatility, consider reviewing your investment strategy and adjusting it to suit your risk tolerance.

The Market:
Futures went from green-to-red and are red as of now, with S&P down about 0.25%, Dow is flat, and Nasdaq down about 0.95%.

Early week we could see tech extending the sell-off, but at the same time wouldn’t be surprised to see a quick bounce if we see early selling. The biggest negative in the market right now is the lack of positive catalysts (likely final stimulus for a while just passed, and could turn into a sell-the-news event). Prepared for both scenarios and my plan going into the week will be below the SPY analysis.

- For SPY, bounced back into the rising wedge on Friday. Pattern is looking weaker since it’s broken below multiple times. Short term support levels to watch: $383, $381, $378. Short term resistance levels: $385, $388, $392. Watching futures right now with potential to form an inverse head and shoulder (bullish pattern) into today. Just a scenario to be watching for that could lead to a breakout.

If we see an early bounce in the market this week, will look to stay mostly on the sidelines and raise some cash if any positions make a quick move back up.
Still lots of unknown in current market condition, is smart to be accumulating on dips but not to get FOMO on the first green day, we could see the market go right back down just like we saw early last week.
Swing Plays for Today:
*Reminder: my buy/sell alerts is just what I’m doing and should just be used for ideas. Not every entry/exit will be perfect timing.
$SPCE: bounced off and held strong support level at $24. Likely to be a quick mover back up to $30 if we see a strong market bounce, but if sell-off continues likely a name that continues to selloff. Watching that $24 support level closest

$SOL: oversold solar play, bounced off support at $9 and first resistance is at $11. Had institutional investors buying at $25, so heavy discount at this price. Has same setup and thesis as most other solar plays: SUNW, SPWR, JKS, etc

$FUBO: support at $25, if it can hold $30 again as new support that would be the sign for potential reversal. Big-mover candidate if we see market bounce

$RIDE: oversold EV play, support at $15 with first resistance at $18. A break and hold over 18 would indicate reversal

$XPEV: has earnings monday morning which could lead to a big move in either direction, but as of now is holding support at $25 with first resistance at about ~$30.5. Same setup as other chinese EV plays: NIO, XPEV. All are great deals for a long position at these prices

$CIIC: another oversold EV play, sitting at support at $18. On a bounce has potential for a quick move back to $22, on a drop below $18 would have downside back to $15. Just one to watch to see which direction it goes early in the week

$EH: beat down heavily from highs, has potential to be in the ARK space ETF. Watching support at $30 for potential entry if it holds, reversal and upside would show if it gets back over and holds $45

$TSLA: first support is at $550-560 level, resistance is at $600 and then $650. Will be a quick mover on market bounce, but on a break below $550 has downside to the $400s.

$PLTR: is holding support at $23 pretty strong, reversal would happen if it gets back over $25 and holds it as new support. Increasing volume and showing more strength than majority of the tech sector

$ASO: is one of the positive movers during market sell-off. Holding stready uptrend on trendline support and has a 40% short float. Also has positive catalyst in the stimulus as a big gun-seller, with a pretty good chance we see some checks go to buying guns

$TTCF: has earnings this Wednesday, first support holding at $18.50 with first resistance at $20 and then $22. Good chance for an earnings beat numbers-wise, but need to see management talk about advertising and guidance to renew investors faith in management team. Has held up stronger than most during the sell-off, earnings likely dictates where it goes from here. I personally plan to hold full position long and will look to add if we were to get any major dips

$SKLZ: has earnings on Wednesday, as of now holding support along the 300 MA. Still holding uptrend but earnings likely dictates where it goes from here. Very interested in adding to long position if we see any substantial dips

$AYX: one of the most beat-down stocks in the entire market, back to $80 support where it was sitting during covid lows. Tons of room for a bounce back to $100 on good news, next support below $80 would be at $75

$NNDM: Major support level is at $6 and first resistance at $8 and then $10 on reversal. First area i’d look to add would be if it drops to next support at $6 or it breaks back above $8 and holds that level as support.

$U: one of the hardest-hit tech names during the selloff, has first support level at $92 and below that at $85. Will be a big mover on a market bounce but has more downside if selloff continues

$PTON: bounced off support at $95 on friday, could see start of reversal if it can hold $105 as new support. Will likely continue to get hit during the market shift from stay-at-home stocks towards re-opening plays more until trend changes. Is getting to great long-term entry levels at this price

ETFS?!?

An exchange traded fund (ETF) is a basket of securities that trade on an exchange, just like a stock.

ETF share prices fluctuate all day as the ETF is bought and sold; this is different from mutual funds that only trade once a day after the market closes.

ETFs can contain all types of investments including stocks, commodities, or bonds; some offer U.S. only holdings, while others are international.

ETFs offer low expense ratios and fewer broker commissions than buying the stocks individually.

Growth stocks and Value stocks have different characteristics, so it's important to understand the difference.
-Definitions:

-PE Ratio (Price-to-earnings): The value of a company relative to how much profit it makes.
-PS Ratio (Price-to-sales): The value of a company relative to how much sales it makes. This is often used to value companies that haven't yet turned a profit.
