Mtn has been using band 20(800MHz) for years.
Infact since january I have been using it as my sole LTE band(manually) because Band 7 is poor in my area.
So I don't know why this is news worthy.

This is a good acheivement,as frequency increases, wavelength decreases and more users would be connected because more bandwidth is created and thus fast speed rate.......the major disadvantage is data rate consumption as it tends to increase.

Search 'hidden' and enter call settings.
Choose band selection and select the bands excluding either band 7 or band 20

MTN is always expanding. The have been the best since time immemorial

won't lie, they are very good. But there service at my area is woeful. Ever other sim I use on my TECNO Camon 16 goes but MTN slow.

You are right. MTN has been using LTE band 20(800Mhz) for more than 3 years now. In fact, it was the main reason why it acquired Visafone.
