Is this the story of your life? Welcome to the rat race specially designed by mammon. Do you really believe this is why Jesus came to die for you, to go church once or twice a week, make money, marry, have kids, train them in school, retire, pressure your kids to marry, battle with high blood pressure or stroke, then patiently wait for death.
My question for you today is, is this really all there is in life? No, there's more to life than the rat race, and the best achievement you can have in life is knowing your God given mission on earth.

Atleast 50% of the people in Akwa Ibom are Christians, yet, it took a Danish woman who has discovered her mission to leave her country to another continent and save the lives of kids who were accused of witchcraft. While many Nigerian Christians are giving testimonies of acquiring visa to join the rat race in America and other European countries, yet she found her gold in the dirt and she's living a more accomplished life.

With more than 1 million Nigerians attending catholic masses every sunday, yet it took only man, Jude Nnam, to compose the best indigenous songs that are been sung across their churches till this day.

There are men and women like Mother Theresa, men who wrote Bibles, people who composed powerful hymns we still sing today after hundreds of years. Unknown missionaries who left the first world to mosquito-infested places to preach the Gospel and bring education to them. Many like Bishop Shanahan built schools generations ago in strange lands that still exist today. Should we talk about Mary Slessor, whose mission secured the lives of many twins in southern Nigeria? There are many Irish priests and sisters who left their countries to war-torn Biafra and God used them to save the lives of many starving and sick children. There are many people who have orphanages, free schools and through them are carrying out their mission on earth.

Jesus gave us a peep into the rewards of a missionary life in Matt 25:33, when he said,
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, "I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

In the Great commission of Mark 16:15-18, Jesus told the eleven disciples and in extension every believer,
15 “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”

Note, Jesus didn't say only pastors should feed the hungry, or only G.Os should drive out demons or only pastor's wives' should clothe the naked or only ushers will lay hands on the sick, no, these missions were given to each and every one of us. As far as you call yourself a believer, a royal priesthood, you will be judged based on these standards.

How to know your mission on earth.

Pray to God and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal your mission to you. After, pay attention to your dreams or any burden in your Spirit e.g sudden desire to clothe the naked, visit the prisoners or you begin to notice all of a sudden the poor people in your environs.

It's always best to have your mission revealed by the Holy Spirit, so you can trust him in times of despair. All you have to do is align with him and give him your hands. And, step by step he will lead you and use your hands to bring forth God's Will on earth.

Do I need to be a billionaire before knowing my mission?

No, all you have to do is to know the opinion of God. Follow and trust his voice. If he has called you to feed the hungry, you can start with what you have. #1000 can buy enough akara for 10 people (100 naira) each to have a great breakfast. #1000 can buy 5 plates of rice you can share as lunch to 5 beggars.
As you become faithful in little things, so will God increase your capacity.

Brothers and sisters, there's more to life than buying 50 new designer bags, new car, new houses etc for your birthday. While those things are good and important, what is better is using your resources to bring God's Kingdom here on earth by carrying out your mission from God through his Grace and Power.

Imagine how wonderful Nigeria would be if just 50% of Christians are in active, selfless missions.
While having a child, a job, visa etc may be your testimony here on earth, what testifies for you in heaven is your mission and the number of souls you have touched positively.

As you begin to reflect on your mission here on yet, never expect fame, rewards or vain glory here on earth. Let your works be between you and God.

There's a level of responsibility that comes with success. To whom more is given more is expected. When God sets you on a pedestal, use it to bless those around you.
