It's negative Karma. The individual must reincarnate (if he dies without paying for his misdeeds) to reap what he has sown. Restitution can help one cleanse himself before death comes.

The unpardonable sin is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Blasphemy includes ridicule and attributing the works of the Holy Spirit to the devil

Not a bible scholar, but would like to comment on this subject.
I think (with all due respect) that many people are confused or just don't really uderstand.
Grieving the Holy Spirit---which means--silencing Him to the point that one no longer can differentiate between good/evil, right/wrong, what sin is & knowingly committing it continously (as a way of life with "0" remorse), having one's conscience seared etc., is the unpardonable sin.
Sin is the transgression of the law.
The law is comprised of the "10" commandents (Exodus 20).
The Holy Spirit guides, comforts, grants understanding of the Word of God...AND also rebukes, reproves and impresses a child of God to steer clear of sin.....and to confess and repent IF he/she does commit sin.
If a person decides to silence the inner promptings of the Holy Spirit and live a life separate of Him--without confession & repentance, then it becomes impossible for the Holy Spirit to help him/her accept (by faith) the gift of salvation....through Jesus Christ' blood.

The sin against the Holy Spirit is unforgivable not because God is the person who is unwilling to forgive but those sinning against God's Holy Spirit are never repentant so even if God wants to forgive sinners against God's Holy Spirit will not appreciate it rather they want God to accept their own standard instead of them accepting God's hand of mercy!


Let me explain!

The Holy Spirit has a specific purpose for which God releases it to operate in the gathering of men but most people don't know this, the only thing they appreciate is what God's Holy Spirit is accomplishing. So they praise God even when they don't know Him.

Before God releases His Spirit to do such He will make sure His own people are fully aware of what His Spirit is coming to do in their midst, so that they're not caught unaware. They will be in the best position to help observers realize that God's Holy Spirit is in action. But some people due to their own selfish heart desires will start speaking against the works of God's Holy Spirit trying to turn unsuspected audience against those whom God is using as proof of the power of His Spirit! In this instance such people can't do anything to stop the work of God's Holy Spirit so they'll continue to oppose it as what they're trying to establish will not stand as the spirit keeps doing it's own works undisturbed!
So they will continue to provoke God's wrath!

For instance Jesus was doing God's work which is to ORGANIZE the Israelites and prepare them for a global preaching and teaching campaign throughout the earth. God's word has foretold that when the mediator of this arrangement come the people will see great signs and wonders to recognize him. So while Jesus is teaching the people on how to go about this wonderful privilege God is giving them as He promised their forefathers (Abraham, Isaac and Jacob) the Jewish religious leaders of the day weren't interested in this program all they're targeting is for Jesus to liberate the Jews from Roman domination.
So even when they're supposed to be the ones telling the people that the Christ is around after seeing all the credentials this young man is providing, they were opposing him from all sides even telling the people that everything Jesus was doing is the work of Satan! Matthew 12:24

Secondly after Jesus' death and resurrection, God's Holy Spirit began operating with Jesus' disciples and the evidence was clear when Peter helped Jews who were present at Pentecost to remember what God promised the Jews through the prophet Joel { Act 2:16-18 compare to Joel 2:28} immediately when they heard this they were so bitter that they wholeheartedly asked Peter "please our brothers, we believe everything about this Jesus now what should we do?" Act 2:37
This were common Jews, but what about their religious leaders who supposed to be the ones enlightening them about all these?
Well they were threatening Jesus' followers to stop the Holy Spirit from working! Act 4:18; 5:28
Now tell me how do you think such individuals could earn the forgiveness from God?

Today billions are still sinning against God's Holy Spirit by calling JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES a Cult Group {Matthew 10:22-25} this is the one and only group that God's Holy Spirit is working with today! What the Bible say that God's Holy Spirit will accomplish during our time is happening in the midst of JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES but instead of joyfully appreciating God's work, the religious leaders milking them are instigating them against the JWs!

if one has commited this sin and begins to seek God for repentance and forgiveness. Would GOD simply ignore him?
