We will hold a massive protest in the east if our checkpoints are closed down..

Officers and men of the Nigeria police have threatened to hold a massive protest in the south east and south south region of the country if checkpoints are shutdown by Nnamdi Kanu..

Some of the officers who spoke in anonymity claimed that the money they got from checkpoints is what they use to support their families as they're not been paid well..

They went on to beg Nnamdi Kanu to shelve the 40 days order given to the police to dismantle all checkpoints.

"I am an officer and I've never killed any IPOB member', this order by Kanu will affect me because they are not paying us well"

Another who spoke to our correspondent said; " 'we are going to hold our own protest if Kanu goes ahead with this order. How does he expect us to survive"? "

Is this for real? So the reason why they are mounting check points is because of the money they get from it and not to secure their area

So since they are not paid well, the next best step to take is to begin extorting innocent citizens.

Most of ds citizens are also civil servants dat are paid 18k a month. Even at that poor rate, they still owe dem for months.. their families starve.

They try to open a business, Fulani govt policies made to strangle easterners, will not let d business survive.

Some turned to farmers, even der, Fulani herdsmen will still kill, maim and rape dem.

These are the people dat u still want to extort because govt no dey pay u well... imagine the stupid talk.

Instead of holding d govt responsible, and protesting for increased allowances, you want to protest against shutting down of checkpoints.. is this not mental illness nitori olorun?

Lies

Is the lie that police are not well paid,
Or that the purpose for checkpoints is to extort citizens?

It is finished!

No wonder they mount checkpoints every nook and cranny in the east as if their lives depend on it.

Is this not why we tell you Igbos to mind your business rather than obsessing about the affairs of Yorubas?

The entire Nigeria now understands that you can do anything wrong to Igbos in ala Igbo and they won't complain because they are too busy hating others to care what is happening to their own fellow Igbos in their ancestral land.

Look at how Igbo SARS got away with killing hundreds of MASSOB members and harvesting their organs to then dump them in the river.

We hear checkpoints are virtually one kilometer apart in ala Igbo perhaps because Igbos alone will accept that and pay up.

A friend who came from the SE last week confessed fuel was selling there for 212 naira per litre while such was not seen anywhere else in Nigeria.

With so much wrong in ala Igbo, I think Igbos really need to focus on their priorities and what they really want out of life instead of obsessing about the affairs of others.
