Music of today is not about talent, but having rich promoters to showcase you, these promoters can train you, or get people to write songs and even perform for you while making the dumb audience think its you who is performing.

Its just an advanced form of karaoke.

Most Nigerian gospel artist particularly the new breed just release one hit song and that's it, they become popular, after sometime they fade in obscurity, its either they change careers, join politics or do drugs, their wealth doesn't come from their crappy music.
