The leader of the Biafran Customary Government and ex militant leader, Chief Asari Dokubo, has released a video on his Facebook page, addressing the Ijaw nation. Dokubo said that the Ijaw nation must embrace Biafra because Biafra was not an exclusively Igbo thing, but also an Ijaw thing. Dokubo Dokubo went on to give reasons why the Ijaw nation is Biafran.

5) The head of the Biafran Airforce was an Ijaw man called Flight Officer Bruce, senior brother to Silverbird boss, Ben Bruce.

Asari Dokubo asked the Ijaws to join hands with Igbo, Ibibio, Efik and all other ethnic groups of the old Eastern Region and fight for the independence of Biafra
