I have been trying to see any strong evidence that these people were what they are depicted to be but have not seen any valid proof to support that.
From the pictures I didn't see any strong incrimination other than a short gun and few machetes which could have been planted and I can't understand how the overpopularised unknown gunmen would be wielding only these.
Knowing how Nigerian security operates which we ve seen in different occasions. We saw that during the endsars.and in so many other times and we are well aware of their penchant to be trigger happy whenever they have the space.
Nigerians should be wiser on the pattern things take in the country. Me and u cannot sincerely substantiate that these people were the unknown gunmen terrorising security operatives in the southeast. So the jubilation by some people about this possible massacre is absolutely out of place

Forget the Nigerian Army, they know what they are doing. They want us to believe that 16 gunmen came to attack the Nigerian Army with with one pump action gun and two cutlass?

Thats the story for the birds

They most probably killed a group of youths going to maybe a wake keep or funeral.. Maybe singing and driving freely in the night. Being that most of these folks in uniform are so scared of their lives these days and are trigger happy, they most probably opened fire without questioning. Then assembled all sorts of vigilante knives and guns to use as "evidence" against the dead boys...

If the gunmen are truly UNKNOWN, how come some people claim to know how they look, dress, and the kinds of weapons they carry to the point of declaring those cadavers innocent? Since they've never been seen?

These amateur propagandists think they're speaking with birds. More hot bullets to the unknown gunmen.

First off, I've confirmed with those in Aba and they said no such thing happened. Secondly, I don't even beleive that those pics shared by NA is real and they were taken in Aba, if they were, you'd be seeing a lot of uproar from Aba residents.

That said, but let's assume for a second that the pics displayed are as true as the Nigerian army want us to beleive. So it means that the UGM terrorizing the Nigerian police and burning their stations actually do it with Matchets and knock outs? Does it mean that even the Naval officers killed by UGM could not defend themselves against matchet attacks despite having AK47 with them?

If one looks at what the NA displayed as UGM, it beggers beleive for anyone to assume that Nigeria security is strong. So again, a group of boys with Matchets went out to attack the NA and the army was happy that they neutralized them, as in for them, that's some sort of achievement.

You see, beleive it or not, the Nigerian army is a huge joke!!! I'm one of those who staunchly beleive that the Nigerian army cannot defend themselves against a well coordinated attack by the UGM.

You're just pained that the lies of the Nigerian army are busted by more intelligent analysts.

I know you don't know that every terror group, is identified by their ideology and when such ideology cannot be identified and attacks are carried out without anyone taking responsibility, then those attacks cannot be linked to anyone, hence the name Unknown.

However, that does not mean that people can not decipher how a group can operate, looking at the mode of their previous operations. For example, anyone can run into a police man and shoot him dead, that can be done by ANYONE. But when a group goes to destroy an entire police station, killing up to 4-5 police men in the process, and wounding others, plus setting the police station ablaze, without leaving traces, boy! then that cant be done by ANYONE!

TO achieve success in such attacks, it is pertinent that a lot of planing is pushed into it.

Therefore, it beggers beleive to now see the Nigerian army claiming that those people who have been setting up police stations on fire, are ordinary knife men, and were neutralized (not in the bushes or in their bases) in the popular Ariaria junction, without anyone knowing about. Also, for people like you @quota_nonsense to beleive this cock and roaster story by the army is actually enough evidence of the declining state of nigerian educational system.

When the attack happens, you praise the unknown gunmen. When they are silenced, you claim they are innocent.
The "unknown gunmen" strategy is unmistakable, they attack security agents and steal their guns.

This is the same excuse north east was giving when Ihejirika was dealing with Boko haram elements.
They claim they are not Boko haram, force him out and the rest is history.

Unknown gunmen should stop killing soldiers and police coz if those killed are not the unknown gunmen, then the innocent ones are suffering for the deeds of the unknown gunmen. You don't expect the soldiers to keep quiet and watch the unknown gunmen kill their colleagues like flies. The police do extra judicial killings too but after the end sars protest, things changed. Many police officers are in prison , some where dismissed, some were sentenced to death. Things have changed quite a lot. I know there is anger in the air and justifiable so. But everyone should sheath their sword coz when two elephants fight, the grass suffers. May the souls of my brothers rest in peace, amen

16 unknown gunmen sharing 2 cutlass and 1 double barrel, no single AK-47. all shot in the head as if they all presented their heads for the nigerian army to shoot. there is more to this story.

Common sense should have made you to understand that killing innocent people will not reduce the number of the dreaded unknown gunmen. How can you cow the dreaded unknown gunmen into submission when their numbers are intact??

I think it's high time we transform the word stupidity to nigeria/nigerian.

I am shocked at this Bavarian, wickedness and ethnic cleansing currently going on in Igboland. To imagine that a certain okezie ikpeazu congratulated the army for slaughtering unarmed youths is a rude awakening to the reality that we don't have leaders in the east.
May God Almighty help us ,things are getting out of hand.
Proper investigations should be done and perpetrators of this henious crime of extrajudicial murder be brought to book.
