You see nothing, you are not different from the fake prophets we complain about. Let me ask you few questions
1) do you believe one can carry out fraudulent transaction using the POS channel
2) if your answer to no1 is no, you need help but if yes, tell us how EFCC can track down such individuals without their informations?

You don't know how POS works..the only record we keep is to get thier names and number which can be fake..if they tell you a fake name, how can you know.if they show you a fake identity card, how do you know..so all this is just rubbish..the best thing to do,keep your atm and online transactions safe..that's all

Good questions.
Fraudulent transactions = obviously fraudulent transactions that you know are not legit.
Eg, a friend of yours or whoever at all, by whatever means finds or clones a card, and comes to you to withdraw (or "cash out" like the young ones say) from the account, when you clearly know that said friend is not the owner of the card and it was obtained illegally.
Also as a POS operator you're not supposed to record details of a customer's card, or clone the card, so you can make unauthorised withdrawals from their account.

To answer your question, yes, by law from the central bank, and rules from the bank, POS operators are actually meant to do KYC for customers (I think there are different levels for different transaction types and amounts) before letting them use your POS. So in case you later find out the transaction you did was fraudulent, and you have nothing to show the police or bank when they're looking for the person who did the unauthorised transactions, you will not be held liable.
Okay, but how will they know the particular card being used to perpetrate this fraudulent transaction when they don't have the card details on record?

You think a fraudulent person will present his true identity?
Funny.
I only pity innocent pos operators.
Then don't be profit greedy and avoid anyone who will not give an identity

so what would you have the operators do? Give customers form to fill? Will they also vet the data collected, like the name, address, phone number etc?
National ID can be verified.

Which means..do atm ask for ur identity card before dispensing..atm have cameras, what does POS have
Ask for National ID and verify with you keeping a copy. They can as well be taken snap shots via webcam or their phone.. Avoid bern to conscious of profit. These are solution POS apps should look into

My brother if you're the type that collects ID card before transacting, then your customers should be less than 10 a day. Or even lesser. These customers don't even trust us to the extent of giving you ID or some see it as stress and thereby prefer the ones that won't stress them.

Customers will show the ID card, not give..

If all pos can come together to make it a must, the. Customers won’t have choice or else they keep looking while the scam continues..

If they pick you up and you spend 2months in prison for a fraudulent transaction, you will know that what EFCC is saying is not rubbish and your brain will start thinking towards how to be positive towards getting it right.
If a someone give you his number, pls what stops you from flashing the line to be sure is the correct number, what stop you from suggesting that this EFCC idea will work if everyone can have their national ID card as early as possible. With that POS operators can always ask for ID and then record the ID number against the transaction for future use where necessary?
All of you want a better Nigeria but you condemned every step any government agency takes to stop criminal activities in the country.
Unfortunately many of you that condemned such policy has no valid alternative to offer.

so because of 1k you want to withdraw from pos, the operator has to do all these? And what would you present when you do the same transaction in ATM?

When they show you without collecting and documentation, what's now the essence or how will you proof you were shown?

very good...but a quick question...how would they know a fraudulent transaction? like how would they know a transaction they are about to carry out is fraudulent or should they just start profiling all their customers?

Very good question? Even the banks can't detect fraudulent transaction.

Can you analyse your reasoning. To use webcam to take pictures of withrawees now transcend to fraudsters using webcam.
Please I am busy.
