I'm talking about the quality of the display panel and not those numbers. Just know that once the hardware is inferior, 1080p or whatever it is called means nothing! That not withstanding, I've compared Redmi 9's so called 1080p display with a much cheaper phone that has a 720p display using the same video files, and guess what? The 720p display was so much better! How do you explain this?
This is the dumbest comment I've ever seen in my life bro, I'm sorry if you're offended, how in fvcks name can a 720p display be better than a 1080p display, that is just dumb sorry, the difference is glaring

He's most likely confusing brighter display with higher quality display

What difference? What experiments did you perform to determine the difference? You re just quoting specifications and numbers blindly which is actually a dumb thing to do.

Don't take this the wrong way sir,but any idiot with half a brain will find your comment very stupid.
The fact that you're comparing a 720p display to 1080p display shows you don't have any business discussing mobile phones specs, you don't know jackshit about this topic

You are invariably arguing now that all 1080p AMOLED displays or LCD displays are the same? That there's no difference at all? Be it on an iPhone or Samsung or Redmi or Tecno or Infinix? That once the specification says it's AMOLED 1080p or LCD 1080p, then, it's same quality all round? Oga that's so dumb and stupid!

I'm telling you that the quality of Redmi's 1080p display is so poor that a 720p display performed better than it and you're here arguing with me. The emphasis is on Redmi's 1080p and not 1080p's generally!

Mr man, anybody with a brain will realise how stupid your argument sounds.
I don't understand how someone who claims to know about phones will compare a tft display to LCD that is just extraordinarily stupid.
This is your Tecno camon 16premier Vs redmi note 9s,if you still can't see difference then you should stop talking about phones generally cos you know nothing about the subject sir

Oga don't carry your ignorance to Xiaomi thread abeg, the only 720p device that could be better than a 1080p is an amoled 720p device. There's simply no way a 720p TFT and LTPS screen that your people love using will be better than a FHD LCD panel

Oga, Brightness doesn't mean quality.
Secondly I'm not comparing TFT with LCD. I said a 720p LCD display performed better than Redmi's 1080p LCD display.
If I can lay my hands on both phones I'll send you pictures or videos of both screens playing same video files so you can see for yourself.
And please, don't argue blindly. I know what I'm talking about.

Unless your argument is that once the specification is LCD 1080p, then it's better than any LCD 720p any where in the world in terms of display quality no matter the manufacturer? That'll be a very dumb thing to say!

This is the infinix zero 8i with 1080x2460 LCD with redmi note 9s and it is still obvious that the redmi is clearer and maintains more details than the infinix.
And you're now talking about 720p LCD display, you're a clown sir,I own the 3brands so I definitely know better.
Don't feel too big to admit you're wrong it'll end up embarrassing you sir

That note 8i is actually a 720p device and is a perfect example, Sorry for wrongly quoting you before.

Bluekapon I know your basis of analysis is only the 65k Redmi 9 which is arguably the cheapest phone with a 1080p display from last year and it's display is inferior to other FHD displays but it's certainly better than every other 720p LCD display in the market.

N.B. stop confusing brighter display with a high quality display

I've used more than 5 1080p LCD phones and redmi is still the best in that category and most of the world agrees, don't ever compare Tecno and infinix display to redmi please the difference is clear,I personally have a 1080p Tecno, redmi note 9pro and a Samsung galaxy s9plus and I can assure you that the tecno doesn't even come close even with a bare screen, the display on the redmi is indistinguishable sometimes from my Samsung even without tweaking the colour scales that is how good it is.
Check out this picture note I have a screen guard on the redmi and no screen guard on the Samsung

720p better than 1080p?

Howw na? That's almost impossible. Except the ppi of the 720p device is higher than that of the 1080p device.

At least, we can all agree that all 1080p displays are not of the same quality, and that some are better than others.

I can also tell you authoritatively that a 1080p display can be so poor that a 720p actually performs better. This is a fact. Let's not argue about this any further.
Re: Redmi Note 10 Review - Finally! by Gptech(m): 6:38pm On May 14, 2021
Una nr even ask the quality of the video file, whether na Full HD(1080p), HD(720p), 480p, 360p, 240p, or even 144p? Low quality videos tend to appear better on screens with lower resolutions. You can confirm this by watching GOTV channels on an HD TV and on a 4k TV. This is why modern Tvs with high resolution come with upscaling capabilities.

This is another very true angle to it sef. The video must a low quality video I think. If not there's no way a 720p display will be better than 1080p.

Didn't think of this, very true something.
